How does the 5th gen fit tall drivers?

I'm hoping to get some feedback from other tall drivers of the 5th gen. By 'tall', I mean people who are 6'5"+
I am 6'6" and finding it impossible to find a new rig that I both fit in well and also like the idea of driving.
The leg and head room in the 5th generation seems to be about the same as my 3rd gen (not great, but I can make it work) but I haven't driven the 5th generation for any extended period of time. Is anyone aware of aftermarket seats/ modifications to fit larger folks?

Both my brother in laws are 6'4 and 6'5. The 6'4 drives a 4th gen and fits great. The 6'5 taken mine a few times now and I've never heard him complain that he doesn't have any room.

Which is a damned dirty shame, because the sunroof is awesome. I'm 6'4" and tag my head on the sunroof in our 3rd gen all the time. I don't have a huge amount of legroom in my buddies' 5th gen, either.

Hate to say it, but check out a Tundra or Sequoia, or a 200 series if you've got the budget. Legroom and headroom for days.

I am 6ft6.5 (almost 6ft7) and finally settled on a T4R due to the fact that it fits me so well. I sat in a premium and it's a no go for sure with the sunroof. But a non premium fits great!
Leg room is fantastic as the driver seat goes down and back plenty. Actually I like it maybe an inch from the max (going back) I have the seat all the way down. Headroom is good. Around 2-3 inches. But best of all, I don't have to totally crouch down to see the stoplights! Just lower my head a little and bam! I can see em. I had a 2014 Tacoma and it just didn't fit me right. Headroom was ok by my eyesight was at the very top of the windshield, I had to remove the sun-visor and even then it was a pain. The only one that was as nice as the 4R space wise was my 2014 FJ. But ultimately I wanted windows that go down for the dogs so ended up selling that one quickly.

I've done 2 hour trips with ZERO comfort issues. I can totally see myself in this 4R for the next 10 years :clap2:

I had initially written off the 4R as I didn't think I'd fit in it, I was wrong!

I also looked at 2005+Sequoia's and those had plenty of space, but if you don't need all the extra room (3rd row), the 4R it a perfect balance. Also may wanna look at the Lexus GX's, one that's a few years old. Those work well for tall people.

I do find the rear gate window to let in some exhaust though, lol. Maybe it works better with a sunroof?

6'7" here - went with a Trail Edition base with no sunroof. Would not fit in any of the 4Runner trim levels with a sunroof.

Dodge Durango fit me well, but no way would I purchase a Dodge product. My decision was between a Honda Accord sport with no sunroof, or a 4Runner. Acura MDX was also in the running. But I decided if I'm going to purchase an SUV, might as well get one that is capable off-road and I can have some fun in.

I'm 6'6" and went with the TRD Pro because I wanted "leather" but the sunroof made the ceiling too short for me to sit in the passenger seat. The driver's seat adjusts down so I would fit fine, but my wife and I share a car and I end up on the passenger side enough it was a no go. I really wish they would have made the passenger seat go down as well, cause I love having a sunroof.

I am 6'4" and the TRDP has awesome headroom and room in general. You won't be disappointed.

For those 6'6 and 6'7 folks that have responded, do you fit with room to spare? Is your head grazing the ceiling? Are you having to slouch at all to be comfortable?
In my 3rd gen I definitely can't sit up straight without my head hitting the ceiling or having to open the moonroof cover. But it's doable. I'm just worried about spending 35-40 on a new truck and regretting it 6 months later because I don't really fit. But the fact a few people have responded positively makes me optimistic. I may head to the dealer this weekend and see if they can set me up for a multi day test drive.

I find there is room to spare. However to know for sure if YOU fit just go in a dealer and sit in one for an hour. Just listen to music, try different seating and body positions and just really get a feel for it.

Driving 6'4" is fine but riding passenger makes you feel large and the vehicle small. I agree, the should make the passenger seat lower!

6'5 here. No problems riding passenger in my buddies 2014 with no sunroof.

Extended test drive

Here in NOVA, extended test drives must be asked for. They typically want you to drive 1-2 miles, then make your decision. Given your height concerns, I'm sure if you explained it to the sales associate, they'd permit a longer test drive so you have a better idea of your comfort expectations.

Additionally, the rearview mirror is adjustable in 2 ways. It swivels up/down/left/right just like any other mirror, but you can also move the entire mirror up/down using the adjustment near the windshield. I drove around for about a year before figuring that out. The mirror was always in my way, now it's much better.

I'm ONLY 6 feet tall though, so...grain of salt...
