How does the 5th gen fit tall drivers?

For those 6'6 and 6'7 folks that have responded, do you fit with room to spare? Is your head grazing the ceiling? Are you having to slouch at all to be comfortable?
In my 3rd gen I definitely can't sit up straight without my head hitting the ceiling or having to open the moonroof cover. But it's doable. I'm just worried about spending 35-40 on a new truck and regretting it 6 months later because I don't really fit. But the fact a few people have responded positively makes me optimistic. I may head to the dealer this weekend and see if they can set me up for a multi day test drive.

Test drive, test drive, test drive. My 6'7" friend fit in my SR5P... but I do have a sunroof and it was tight. Without the sunroof, there would have been plenty of room.

I'm 6'5 and went with a non sunroof 5th gen and it is very comfortable. There is also good legroom in the back.

Sunroof - does the 2015 or 2016 TRD Pro come without a sunroof and some of you have added it? It's not clear by these posts and I hope to be ordering a TRD Pro next year.
The base SR5 and Trail do not have it. I would prefer no sunroof for the extra clearance. Even at 6'3" it's nice to have at least 3" above the head.

6'4" and its the limit for me, legs get cramped on long drives. The 08 trailblazer I traded for my 4R had more driver leg room.

6' 4" and I fit fine with sunroof. Everyone adjusts their seat differently, that is the difference. I've owned a 96 and an 08. The 14 has the most room of the two. The 08 was an sr5 so it had much less seat adjustment.

I'm 6'3 and I just graze my head. I do have a sunroof and my driving position is pretty upright by my friends' standards. And yes, seating position makes all the difference. I do, however, feel a bit cramped in the 2nd row (no third row seating) of my TEP.

6'4 and my head/hair just grazes... more so in the mornings. I'm long in the legs so I don't sit much taller than someone who is more average in height. Having said that, and as mentioned, every time I sit in the passenger seat, it pisses me off how high the seat is. I'm sure my head can touch the glass in the sunroof if I wanted to.

I rented an SR5 in August and not having the sunroof made a huge difference. If I get another 4R... I would strongly consider no sunroof next time unless they can add an extra inch or 2 in the 6th Gen.

Plenty of leg room in both the front and 2nd row!

6'4" here, and for me the sunroof is absolutely the determining factor. With it I can not fit in the 5th gen (with my admittedly quite upright seating position). I just sat in one without sunroof and fit was good, about 1.5 inches of headroom which isn't much, but is tolerable.

Has anyone removed the foot rest on the left side, what is underneath? I'd really enjoy another inch or 2 to stretch out my left leg on long trips but the foot rest doesn't give me enough room

6'3" no sunroof and i fit fine with the exception of the minor annoyance of the footrest

the only problem i have is the same problem that i have in every japanese vehicle: even when they let the seat slide back enough to give you leg room, they don't let the steering wheel telescope enough. this is probably the only thing i miss from owning german vehicles; i could always get the seat and steering wheel where i wanted. In this and every japanese vehicle i've driven the wheel is always too far away if you want your legs straight.

I'm 6'4" and honestly the 2014+ GX has waaaaaayyyy more headroom/legroom than the T4R...by waaaaaaayyyy...I mean inches...lol, which is all the difference in the world.

Whereas I need to be all the way back and down in the T4R, I don't have to go all the way back in the GX. The older GX was a no go...waaaaayyyy LESS room than the current generation.

I'm 6'4" and have plenty of room in my SR5. Only thing is I have to duck slightly to see the traffic lights if I'm sitting first at the light lol. Probably because I prefer to sit higher up in the truck.

I'm 6' 1" and my wife is 5' 11". I went with no sunroof for the extra headroom for the passenger. I wish there were more options instead of packages. I ended up adding the TEP softex seats myself.

New to the forum and was unable to open a new thread so I just replied to an old one on a similar problem.

I desperately want a new 4runner(off road) but I find the drivers head room just a couple of inches to low. Having the electric seat and sunroof seems to limit the amount of head room.

I live in Canada and all 4runners come with sunroofs, no way to order one without it. I have contacted dealers in the USA not far from my house and they are prohibited from selling to Canadian customers.

Just wondering if there are other 5th gen 4 runner owners who had a similar problem and were able to fix this problem with a great vehicle e.g change seat, take out sunroof etc

I'm 6'4" and have plenty of room, I think I still have an inch of adjustment back on my seat as far as leg room. I was surprised when I first drove it.

Sorry for resurrecting this old post, but wondering if anyone knows if the seats have changed (for the better, to give more head/leg room) since the early 5th hen days?

I tried out a 5th gen years ago when I started this thread and it was a no-go. This week I’m at a family reunion and my bro in-law has a TRD Off Road as a rental and I for really well. It’s cloth interior, power seat, no sunroof. I’m guessing it’s a ‘20 or ‘21. I was really surprised how well I fit. So wondering if the seating got better or maybe I’m getting smaller.
