how hard is it to install slider by yourself

Got my Metaltech sliders for my LE. I am thinking about giving it a try this weekend. My wife isn't too thrill about helping. Anyone tried this on their own or have tips for me. I have a jack, that's it.

I did mine with a jack and two jack stands. not hard.

You can do it. I just used a jack. My mom actually helped on one side but I got around to the other with no help. You will be fine.

If these are weld on a couple of really large clamps would be helpful also. If bolt on, what they said above.

Slightly difficult by yourself, but incredibly easy with an extra set of hands. Just take wifey out for dinner afterwards and you'll be golden.

My wife was hesitant to help, but the whole install for the OPOR sliders was maybe an hour, and that included redoing one side because I didn't like how it was positioned. I only needed her to help me hold half the weight while I got the first 2 bolts on, then we slid in a jack stand to hold the rest of the weight.

If you convince her that the tread plates on the sliders are for her benefit (and the kids), which my wife really wanted, then getting her to help should be no problem!

Very simple. Just requires a jack to hold the weight of one end why you screw in the bolts on the other. Took me less than 30 minutes - probably more like 15-20.

If your good with side leg raises, that may be possible - a little scissor action lol.

Entirely possible. I did it like everyone above, with a jack and jack stands. Having said that, if you can find someone to help it will be MUCH easier and you'll be less likely to drop a heavy slider on your face.

Ok, thanks guys. I stop working on cars and trucks for a number of years since the kids came. I do miss it a little bit, but I can't wait to get the sliders on there. Now I gotta be nice to my wife for the rest of the week until the sliders are in by Saturday afternoon. :moony:

Another question for you guys.

Those that have installed these sliders on their Limited, they are held to the frame by only two 1/4" or 5/16" bolts? That seem extremely inadequate.

i did mine today with a friend helping holding them up in place. wasn't bad

HOw many bolts? I have a total of four only from Metal tech to hold the slider in place.

That doesn't seem right. My Shrock sliders were kind of a PITA to install with the stick nuts, but there must have been at least 6 bolts per side, and they sure as shit weren't 1/4"
