How high is too high?

I've been doing a lot of searching but can't seem to find much. I know measuring fender height isn't the best way to gauge post lift results but with mine coming in over 40" in the rear, I'm wondering how high is too high? I'm running Icon stage 2 with 255/80 17 KM2s. I'm trying to eliminate a rake of 40.5 to 38.5 front to rear by adjusting my front coilovers but don't want the truck too tall. Is 39 front and 40 or so rear decent or should I find a way to lower the rear instead of lifting the front a little more. I know I had seen a thread where post lift results were shared but can't seem to find it now. If anyone can link that specific thread, I'd appreciate it.

There is no concern about the truck being too tall.... Tall does raise your center of gravity, but that is most likely not going to come into play very often.

The big concern with IFS is the CV axle angle at ride height, but you should be fine.

To normalize your measurements... measure from center of hub to top of fender. That is how you determine how much lift you got and eliminate the tires from the equation.

My truck is sitting at 40,41.5 right now if I measure to the ground. I consider it just right. My hub to fender difference is only about 1"+ in the rear. The tires tend to deflect a bit more in the front while at rest.

1-1.5 more in the rear seems pretty level to me.

I would raise the front a tad or not worry about it. You really can't lower it easily in the rear. It will settle some.

Thanks but that's not the thread. It was only a few pages and people literally just posted fender height numbers and what they used to get there.

That's what I'm looking for right there. Center of gravity was the concern, CVs too but looking at them, it's nothing too extreme yet. I have the diff drop somewhere.

I would not worry about it.

I'm running true 34" tires right now so that raised my truck about .75" compared to the 33 class tires I had before.
