How I plasti-dipped! (another plastidip thread)

How I plasti-dipped my rims.

So I have noticed that everyone who plasti-dips something makes a thread about it and boasts their pictures.... So I'd like to do that too.

I'd also like to show you how I did it since that is a rarer subject to find...

Since I only had 1 good jack, I only did two wheels at a time, and set the jack in the middle of the vehicle



I first did a spare tire, which I lined with tape...


But I didn't really like using the tape... So I used playing cards which I removed and replaced every coat.

I have a 2003 in the same color that I wanted to do this to, now I know what it'll look like! Also, cool idea leaving the center caps silver. That looks sharp.

I've got a white 04 that I did the same thing on. I didn't bother to mask it. It peels off of the tires so easily when you finish that it wasn't worth the time or effort to me.

I just sprayed mine a few times over until they were covered good. I got through almost all of the wheels on a single can.

i did 4 coats, started with a heavy coat, then let dry and did light coat, and repeated 2 more times.

Used 1 1/2 cans.. almost 2
