I reached out to 40 dealers in the west and only 2 had one available.

2. Is it true that I can't pay Austin taxes without registering it in Texas? Does anyone have any documentation on this?

That $1,175 delivery/processing fee is pure fluff. That's 100% dealer profit. The only "delivery fee" you should be paying is the one of the Monroney sticker, which should be around $350 or so. I'd ask them to see the monroney, unless you don't care.

You cannot pay tax on it where you buy it if that isn't the zip code of your home address. Car sales tax is based on your address, not where you buy. Otherwise EVERYONE would buy cars in states with no sales tax.

This is $3,300 under sticker price ($52,865)...it has a bunch of options on it and I think it’s a fantastic deal. I have been looking all over and couldn’t find anything close to as good of a deal as this. I am having it put on a flatbed from Ohio to New Jersey next week

Also forgot to mention this comes with lifetime warranty

It may be fluff but depending on the state it cannot be waived. In Florida for example dealers can charge whatever they want for a doc fee and they cannot be waived the only catch is they have to charge everybody the same fee.

No fine print. Believe me I inquired. They said any place that services Toyota’s is acceptable, doesn’t have to be just where it was purchased

Just remember in order for them to honor that lifetime warranty, you have to do all the service and maintenance at a toyota dealership. At least that was what I was told.

I do care but cannot find another one available anytime soon. (My 98 Cadi Deville blew a piston and went to heaven, so I am completely without a vehicle)I have heard people consider MSRP a decent deal but wasn't sure if that included $1,300 + in fees.

I walked away from a few MSRP +5K deals, here in Denver and somebody was right behind me ready to take my place.

I am really surprised by the guy above saying he got it for 3K under. ":nerd

No, that is the manufacturer destination charge. MOst dealers will charge some sort of high dollar "doc fee" or "dealer prep fee" and those are built-in fluff. In many states they are legally protected. Also, in just about every state the fee is not negotiable. What they charge one person they must charge everyone.

That isn’t a Monroney, the monroney is what will show your states delivery/doc fee. Ask to see the window sticker.

We don’t know what it is, because it’s not on the monroney. Lots of places will charge a “destination fee” ON TOP of the manufacturers destination fee. This is why I said to see the monroney, that will show what your delivery fee is. And then a search will reveal what your states doc fee is.
If that’s a legitimate delivery and document charge, dang. I’d start lookin out of state.
