Bought my 2018 TRDORP last June and the California registration was definitely a lot of money...

Approaching my 1 year mark, I received this year's California registration paperwork for the 4Runner in the mail yesterday and was really pissed off to see that it's still a ton of money. Which got me to wondering: what are people around the country paying annually to register their 4Runners... especially folks with newer 4Runners?

I think it’s based on your purchase price and it goes down little by little every year.

I bought mine last May and I just paid registration/license renewal this year, $445 total ($186 registration +$219 license + misc fees). My original purchase price was $37000.

$54/year in NE Ohio for license tags. Varies a bit by county for their cut but I would imagine a couple of dollars either way of that cost.

NC Registration = $496 (just came due in April), $13 yearly inspection

This is with city and county taxes, recently moved from county to city...previous registration fees in the county only were ~ $300

I just looked mine up from 2013 when it was new. It was $731.84 in Colorado.

Last year it was $136.28

All 4 of my vehicles - $75.00 each + $7.00 for inspection - total $82.00

Some areas of the state do emissions testing - That would likely be more $$$. In my area there is no emissions testing.

Dude, my original purchase price was $40K... why are you paying $100 less than me this year?! (Well, $40 of that is my vanity plate).

Yes, it goes down a bit every year, but...

This is my first new car in 10 years. I don't recall it being this painful back then.

$83.50 in Wisconsin for the purchase of a 2015 4runner this year. $75.00 is the annual renewal fee. I transferred my plates from my old 4runner to the new one here.
