Take a look under it and see what kind of springs and shocks it has. Or, post up a picture of it on here.

Measure from the center of the wheel up to the fender lip. Most stock 3rd gens are 20 inches in the front and 20.5 in the rear.

I really want 285s but dont want to spend the cash and risk them rubbing like crazy. My old '99 had 285s with a 2 inch lift and it only rubbed when the wheel was turned sharp.

Front is 36.5 and rear is 37

If you look at Kraze build thread he has about that and he is running 35's. You will be fine. You might have to trim just a little or just get the BFH out and go to work. Pictures will help us all out.

Sorry, took me a min to figure out how to upload pics.

i've yet to own a limited and 33's without trimming the front inner fender. Very minor project, just grab a grinder (even hand saw) and you'll likely need to cut an inch or so from the inner bottom of the front side of the fender.

I'm running 285/75/16 Falcon Rocky Mountains on American Outlaw Buckshots with 4.25 BS and not rubbing at all. I didn't have to do any trimming on my 01 either, and no spacers.

its also gonna depend on the wheels and backspacing of the wheel... what kind of driving are you going to be doing, DD like commuting and errands, or are you going to actually take this off road and go 4wheeling with it? id bet that with daily driving(DD) and just simple commutes and errands you could get away with 285s(again depending on the wheels) and not have rubbing issues other than at full steering lock, but thats only gonna happen at very slow speeds so not much harm can be done.

fwiw i ran 285s with no lift for a year or so, granted i did not have a limited or the flares, but i also had armor so i was weighted down a little so i sat even lower.

the only way to tell for sure is to run them and see.

any good tire shop would let you run the tires for a week and if you had rubbing that you didnt like they should take the tires back and swap you with the next size smaller and not charge you anything for it -after all the 285s would be a bigger tire and thus costing more, and really they are not used -a weeks driving you would still have the "numbs" on them.

Thanks for all the input. Its been so long since I had my last runner, im a little rusty with it all..lol. i am most likely getting Kenda Klevers and I think the 285s will work. It is just a grocery getter and baby hauler for me so its not like I am off roading with it.
