How much of the seats are leather on Limited

I was putting conditioner on the leather seats in my 2014 Limited. I was putting this on the whole seat. The only part that actually felt like leather to me was the actual part you set in. The back and sides of the seat feel more like a vinyl but I do not know for sure. If the only part that is leather is the part you set in then I am using the wrong protectant on the rest of the seat. Also are the console lid, steering wheel, door side panels and shifter leather? They almost feel like vinyl like the back and sides of the seats to me. I do not have any experience knowing what is leather or not.

Pretty sure that the back is vinyl and the seat and back (portion you actually make contact with when seated) is leather. I also think they use leather on the center console and portion of the door and steering wheel. I've personally never taken the time to try and figure out which panels are which though. So hopefully someone more helpful will come around...

From what I've read, I don't think our seats need any oil-based leather conditioners. The only care recommended in the owner's manual is:

Cleaning the leather areas
● Remove dirt and dust using a vacuum cleaner.
● Wipe off any excess dirt and dust with a soft cloth dampened with
diluted detergent.
Use a diluted water solution of approximately 5% neutral wool detergent.
● Wring out any excess water from the cloth and thoroughly wipe off
all remaining traces of detergent.
● Wipe the surface with a dry, soft cloth to remove any remaining
moisture. Allow the leather to dry in a shaded and ventilated area.

So far I've only used a damp microfiber cloth on my seats. But I know that others are passionate about their conditioning products. Ten years from now, we'll probably know the answer. And Toyota will probably be using different seat coverings by then anyway.

I use the leather conditioner and cleaner on my wife's ride all over even though only her seat middle and back middle are leather. The conditioner won't hurt synthetics so it's no big deal and it cleans the synthetic as well as anything else I guess..

Believe you are correct....only the seating surfaces. The backs are clearly not leather. Nor does the portion to the sides of the seating surface appear to be leather either.

To be honest, I think only high-end vehicles will provide 100% leather seating.
