How much should I sell for?

Ive got a red/maroon 96 SR5 4x2 with 242k on the odometer that im thinking of selling. I've seen a wide variety of prices people are asking both on this forum and in my local craigslist ads and im not sure what I should be asking for in regards to price. Im hoping someone in the forum could give me an idea.

The 4R runs great. No engine problems that I am aware of. It doesn't burn or leak oil. Recently it has developed a shimmy around 60mph. I do not know the cause of this issue but I have noticed driving up inclines seems to cause the problem.

The stock catalytic converter was stolen and replaced with an aftermarket one which causes a perpetual check engine light to be on.

The AC works intermittently. Typically it will run for a short time and then start blowing hot air.

The cloth interior is in tact but is quite stained. The previous owner smoked im assuming and there are little burn marks on the headliner. The carpets are equally stained. there are a couple of small holes in the upholstery on the passenger and driver seats. The driver seat also has a large tear on the side closest to the door which lets some foam rub off. The vinyl on the console lid is cracked. One or two of the AC vents are broken but in place. I have the cargo cover.

The exterior has no visible rust, but the clearcoat is gone on large areas on the drivers side near the gas door and on the front fender. There are some rock chips on the hood but it doesnt look like it was shot repeatedly with a BB gun like some cars get. There are some dents on the hood and roof but nothing major. The wheels are the stock 15" wheels in OK shape.

Im getting a new car soon and im not really interested in putting any work into this one. What do you think is a fair price if my description is accurate? Any insight would be appreciated.

4x2 are all over the place here, so i would hit craigslist and try price according to what you think is fair and you would like to try and get out of it. But set a margine for haggling. We usually tell our guys to hit at 1k unless its real nice, so it leaves room to convert to 4x4 and be more desirable. But would make some kid a nice first vehicle .

Good luck

I think you should be able to get 1500...for some reason on Cl thats always been the magic number when selling (atleast for me) ....Everyone walking around has 1500 bucks burning a hole in their pocket!

Sounds like it just needs a good cleaning on the inside and a little bit of love...someone needing a reliable daily driver vehicle or good first car would be likely to buy...or even a work truck. These are great when the rear seats are laid down for working out of.

The interior is probably not as bad as I say. If you put some floor mats down it is certainly passable. The daah isin good shape. It wpild make a decent work truck. I was shocked how much bagged mulch I could fit in the thing. I think I had every square inch except the driver seat and center console stacked with bags once.
