I think you're right about the Runners, but Jackson Hole is the indisputable king of Subarus. At least according to my highly scientific survey of driving through town a couple times.

True, Colorado slightly edges out Washington and Oregon in total 1st gen runners still registered and on the road. At least according to DMV information that I had seen as of about 2003.

I wonder about per capita, though. Seems like I see way more 4Runners in Utah and Colorado than I do when I go back to Oregon.

I'm a FL boy too. I never see them. Although one did follow me down the turnpike to work a few days ago. It was red, lifted and it really good shape.

I have been spending half a year in Florida, the other half in Mass for the past three years. There are quite a bit more 4-wheelers here in Ma. than in Florida. When I sold Jeeps back when they were with AMC, it 4x4 was a big selling point due to people's fear of driving in snow. In fact, all you really need is front wheel drive, but that didn't sell Jeeps so I kept that as an inner secret.

4Runners weren't too common at all in the DC area either and I vacation in St. Pete Florida every year and I rarely see 4Runners or Subarus down there but FJs were seen every once in a while.

I live right outside of Philadelphia, and since I bought mine down in Raleigh in April I have seen only one other one on the road...probably b/c they rust like crazy up here. Would like to see more so I can honk and wave.

Guess I should get to the undercoating before winter!

I own my First Gen '88 4Runner here in Oregon and I actually see other First Gen 4Runners quite often.

I see 2 of them every time I leave the house.
They're in my garage.

After first seeing this post, they seem to be popping up all over the place! I usually notice a few every day, but now it seems like 6 or more a day. I even parked near 3 others at the grocery store last night. Folks seem to like my home-camo job on my '85 4runner. What a fun rig to have!
Almost as much of a "Hey, I have one of those" vehicles as my old VW Beetle is! Folks love thier 4runners....4sure!

Newby here, I see two everyday when I go out into my driveway, an 88 and an 89. Both black and both SR5s. They are getting harder and harder to find though
