How to Replace/Repair Knock Sensor Wiring?

The actual KS is only one wire, then there is a wrapping of wire to protect the actual 'live' wire from electronic noise. It ends at a group of wires at the controller. I just used the proper connectors for both ends and bought shield cable and made a new harness for only the KS. For me it was the harness and not the KS. From the many post out there the discussion seems to lead to the KS being a very robust component. The weak link is the harness.

That seems to be what I am leaning towards as well. I think it may have to do with the shielding for the wire, as it seems like the wire is good.

But i just dont seem to see this shielding at all which is strange? Maybe i need to cut through the harness? Just don't see a shield at all

Update on this: I ended up going to the Yotaman shop in santa rosa. They let me try out some knock sensors, didn't change anything. So then i tried swapping out and ecu and that totally fixed my problem.
