I got the hazard, rear window, and ECT working as of now, but my turn signals aren't working at the moment.. Checked the 15A fuse under the dash and looks good...

Any Ideas?

****EDIT***** You must have the hazard button installed to get your turn indicators to work!!!

I have no illumination either (I have two sets of button clusters... Chances that both sets have blown bulbs?)

Yes indeed! I found this out driving to work without the hazard switch plugged in, and realized that I was being "that guy" who is not using his signals (and I ALWAYS do!). Live and learn!

Possibly. Both bulbs in my donor combination switch were blown (believe it or not, there are two different bulb types in there, I can get you the part numbers if you need them). If you are getting 12V at G, and W-G has continuity to ground, then it's the bulbs in the combination switch!

Got everything wired up and running! I even did the clock! Sadly it was still fading in and out. Not sure but it was tough trying to solder the pins with that gaping hole. I might try a smaller tip next weekend.

I also still need to make the pigtails for the added outlets... Totally spaced grabbing them when pulling parts at the yard.

If you can get me the part numbers for the lights that would be awesome!!!

great write up! i did this swap about a year ago.
didn't mess with the rear defroster as it didn't work in the original. may give this a shot and try troubleshoot the problem now that there is something solid to go off of. any difference in 99 and 01?

i also left the security in the original knockout and moved it to the left side as you did. any reason you went that route rather than wire it into the new(er) dash location?

There may be a small difference in wire colors, I believe I saw one wire that was different between '02 and '99. But if you follow the locations in the connector, then you'll be fine.

But looking at it closely, I was going to have to spend an awful long amount of time trying to install them into the bezel, and still risked having it look clugey, so I just went with the left dash knockout.

Ah, yes! I noticed that some years did have the security light built into the bezel; unfortunately mine did not, so I just stuck into the dash knockout. I'll use the "passenger" area for something more important, like switches or gauges .

I was thinking about using the ECT button to run a relay of some kind for perhaps a light relay or maybe a switch for the power antenna for when I'm wheeling or in a carwash. LOL with that in mind where would you suggest I pull illumination from. Perhaps from the circuit board? solder 4 wires instead of 3 maybe?

Ah yes, that makes sense. I believe that other folks with 5 speeds (like [MENTION=148218]JZiggy[/MENTION]) have wired up their ECT switches for some other function. So by all means go for it!

As for illumination, that's even easier in your case - if you look at post #3, I say to tape up the unused G and W-G wires for the back window, since I used the ECT wires for illumination. Well in your case, don't tape them up, just connect the G and W-G wires from the back window harness to the G and W-G wires on the C23 connector harness (pins 5 and 8)! Makes sense?

Brah, where were u 4yrs ago. Very great write up. [emoji1433]. I did mines in 2015 and I retrofitted a JDM 3 din to my 99-02 bezel. It’s not perfect at sum spots, but I made it work.
I did a hybrid to the top switchboard (defrost, ECT, and up/down rear window). I installed a secret compartment on the far R of the bar. It holds business cards. Well I think that’s what it’s for.

I also didn’t know how to do the defrost switch, so I just molded the switch housing on the bottom L corner

Here’s my other secret compartment. It’s taking the space of 1 din because I have a double din head unit.
