How TOUGH do you feel while in your runner?

Actually no you wouldnt. Yes the 1000cc is faster and yes the driver sucked and yes I did get a start on him. But it was good enough to take him and for him too stop and say he was surprised. If he would have downshifted in time he would have taken me.

My buddy has a 650whp Talon and he has videos on streetfire eating up a Hyabusa, 1000cc Honda and an R1. But like you said I would need more power. Thats why I liked playing with the 600cc bikes!

But I did get a exhibition of speed ticket taking out a SRT10 Dodge Truck. After that I parted out and decided to take on the offroading. Most of my parts are in my brothers Talon and he lets me tune it for him so I still get my speed fix now and then. I have like 10 friends and they all have 400-650hp talons. Me and one buddy have offroading vehicles and his is a Mitsubishi Montero with a 3" lift. I tried to talk him into a Toyota but had to stay to our Mitsubishi roots. Its ok when I have to pull him out of spots when he gets stuck though. LOL

Holy crap this is exactly how I feel. Just the other day I was washing the runner and my dad looked at me and said "are u crazy or just obsessed" I said "both, now jump into your rav4 you grandma" haha I love my 4runner. But sadly here in Wisconsin there aren't any people to go off roading with. :50cal:

The feeling is pretty much mutual STRRAYNGE, except kids at my school have no idea what 4runners, tacomas, old pickups, old runners are capable of. I had a kid talk trash with a 2wd truck saying he could go more places than i could... i laughed it off haha. I used to look at any third gen that came by and eyeballed it, but around here there all pretty much stock. I know of a couple lifted and to the point that im at, so now when i see one im just like well, its not lifted and turn my head haha.
 
i drive a 4th gen so i feel like a soccer mom since thats pretty all who drives them around here. and they seem to be the second most common SUV in my area. the first being Range Rovers.

I appreciate all of the responses here!! Its nice to know how many of you feel the same way I do and know that im not the only crazy one here. I felt good in my Wrangler as far as cruising with the family with the top down, but it had the D35 rear end. Any time I was on the trails, I was sooooo scared to do anything thinking I was going to bust an axle or blow the diff. Everyone has their own preferences and styles. I like the runner because it is big enough to haul my family and pretty much everything I need, but yet its still small enough to pretty much go down any trail you point its nose to. I too ended up getting lost on some trails a few weeks back, and before I realized what was going on, I was literally on a hiking trail, way out in the mountains. Scraping the sides on almost every tree I passed. I couldnt really back up due to the terrain, incline, rocks, etc. I was actually scared, but I finally found a main road and made it out. I dont know, I just love my runner!!

i've only had it for a month, i'm slowly doing all i can. i've got bigger BFG T/A KO's on it, HID's, clevis pin shackles, tint, plasti dipped emblems, Magnaflow exhaust…but all that no one will really notice unless theyre another vehicle enthusiast.
 
I will definitely say that after putting on my front bumper I get big urges to ram things with it. Whether it be slow drivers in the passing lane or some fencing. Whatever!

With my ARB, I can't wait to hit something in it, like a deer at full speed :roadkill:

:P I often feel invincible in my 4Runner with my ARB bumper, that thing is a monster and extremely strong! Though I really don't want to wreck my 'Runner!

But when on the street the only thing you do is a light to light. Hauling on turns is way more dangerous, not like street racing is safe or anything. LOL.

Not to mention I had a full tuned suspension that was lowered, camber kit, KRB struts and All wheel drive. They actually do really well in the turns.

Yes, you would. Even your last sentence confirms that. I've been heavily involved in Dragracing and to a lesser extent Landspeed racing for ten+ years. I have friends that have gone out with various bikes and cars on closed courses, or desolate unused roads, just to see how they compare, when both rider and driver are good, and both KNOW THEY ARE RACING.

Pulling up next to some guy on a sportbike, who's cruising on his way home from work, then you downshift and floor it, and he might roll on the throttle a bit, does not make a legitimate race. Calling that a 'kill' is laughable at best.

I'm just letting you know that in a legitimate race, you would need more than double that power to the ground, just to keep up with a stock GSXR1000.

I know amd your car sounds badass. I just feel that any* front wheel drive (not awd) vehicle is inferior on any type of track against a similar rear wheel drive car. Hence my backing the Vette Z06 on any track race against the Mitsubishi.

I really doubt the Vette guy really cared (and probably laughed at you) since he's still driving a nicer car than your $1000 DSM which for a $1000 can't be that nice.
I had a 400+hp DSM also that beat Vipers in the 1/4 mile but the Viper is still a better overall car since a straight line isn't the final word of performance but it did make me feel good to beat something that cost way less than and had a 1/4 of the cubic inches that Viper had but I don't think the Viper owner,who was pissed, was going to trade it in on a Mitsubishi anytime soon.

Also other lifted trucks in most cases are quite capable even more than alot of lifted 4Runners but I fault the wussy drivers more than the trucks themselves if they don't use them as intended.
 
I love my 4Runner to death, and I'll love it more once my suspension comes in and I can finally put it on the truck. I wouldn't say it makes me feel "Tough" though. Rather, It makes me feel confident and capable.

I feel I'm capable to go places where I couldn't even dream of going when in my car. I am able to "make" parking spaces on boxing day when parking spaces are non existent, parking in areas where a car would not dare to go.

My 4Runner gives me the ability to explore the world a lot more, go places others cant and for that reason ladies and gents I feel great pride driving it.

My car is All Wheel Drive. No stock Vette thats not the new supercharged one had no chance.
 
I love how I turned this into a bash on a Mitsu guy. I have been in drag racing for over 10 years. I have friends with 8 and 9 second cars up in this altitude. I never once wanted to bash the guy in his vette or be bashed.

I was huge in the street scene like over 8 years ago from age 16-22. I am now almost 30 and dont do that anymore. You will be surprised how many old guys in the Vipers or Corvettes would give my car props and never dogged it.

Sorry I started a fight with you guys. Also to the guy saying I would need 800whp to beat a GSXR 1000cc in crazy. That would be near 1000hp at the crank to beat a 1000cc bike. Thats just laughable. Here is my buddy taking a 1000cc bike. The other videos are gone since we had to remove them due to my buddys speed shop being investigated for street racing but this one is still here.
