how'd you do blackout your emblems?

that perfect match duplicolor primer, color, and clear coat is what I used.. i think it was called metallic black.

How did the Duplicolor Perfect Match hold up on your emblems? I’m debating between doing that or PlastiDip. I did the black overlay emblems and they started to fall off 6 months later.

They definitely show their age and the coating has peeled in some areas.

At the time, I was a little naïve because I didn't know my emblems were real gold plating. Was an option for some of the limiteds.

Which I think is why, after time, the coating has started to peel because even with all the sanding, it didn't etch in quite enough.

If I were to do it over, I would either just buy black emblems or buy regular plastic emblems that were ready to be painted.
