Hurricane Creek Adventure

Had an awesome time this passed Saturday at Hurricane Creek off of I-40 in NC on the way to Knoxville. Every single day and every new thing I do in my 4Runner I grow more and more in love with it. It is completely stock and had absolutely zero problem keeping up with these two Rubicons and a Tacoma. I mean it truly blows me away. I can't wait to throw a decent lift, tires and rims on and see what she can really do.
This trail had some pretty good mud holes, ruts and some small rock obstacles and even with the stock highway terrains she performed flawlessly. I installed a self made rear diff breather because I knew there would be some creek crossings (nothing too deep) but i figured this was the excuse i needed to get it done. We had two solid days of rain a day prior to going out.
The guy in the Grey Rubicon had an awesome photographer with him and got some stellar shots! Enjoy!

I have family in Asheville and have run that a couple times, great fun trail, depending on how recently the forest service has trimmed back the brush can lead to some harsh pin striping. Last time we found an abandoned Cadillac Escalade about 1/2 up, it was surprising they made it that far on 20-22 street tires, Florida plates...our guess was stolen but who knows.

Woah thats interesting. you're probably right, stolen or just really dumb. When we went there were certainly some tight spots with brush concerned. speaking of, If I went and got my car polished would that be the thing to deal with pinstriping? :help:

I hit pinstriping with Meguiars Ultimate Compound, and then re-wax those areas. It will buff out all the light pinstriping.

If a scratch is deep enough in the clearcoating it may require some wet sanding first, but polishing with some light compound will remove the light stuff and is easy to do even if you never have before. If a scratch is through the clear coat and paint not much to do except take it to a shop or just make sure you get some wax on it and live with it.

Out of all the pinstripes I've had, there are just a couple so far that haven't buffed out with some mild compound. the nice thing about yours is that gray metallic paint is probably the best option for hiding imperfections.

Ah awesome ok, I have some mcquire's ScratchX and I have used it a little bit with awesome results but I haven't been to comfortable using it because I don't want to wear clean through the clearcoat seeing as I have no real experience.
