Husky vs Toyota All Weather Liners on 5th Gen

I went husky for the fact they stay put better. Both husky and weathertech have similar coverage. The husky liner seemed "rubbery" and offered more traction with the reverse side having all those traction points. Good luck in your decision.

I had the OEM and went with Husky. I've been really happy with them. I'm not a clean freak, but hate snow/mud/etc. getting all over the floor. So the coverage of the Huskys sold me. It's worth the extra money. I don't know about the cargo mat as I only have the front and middle set.

Husky in the front and rear. Weathertech in the cargo area. I like that the Husky liners stay in place due to the spikes on the bottom. I think the Husky liners also have better coverage.

After a long and unusually snowy winter we just took our 4r Trail in to the dealer for a complete going over. Everything is 100% and the dealer said they lifted the floor mats to check underneath and the carpet is as dry as a witch's t***. That was good to hear. - Ted

My 2018 came with the OEM all-weather floor mat package. The floor mats are nice, especially the front. They look good and cover well. The rear slide deck cover is a POS. It has a very short lip that's supposed to keep it in place on the sliding rear deck. But it doesn't. So it's just a piece of rubber sitting loose on top of the sliding deck. And now it's a worthless piece of rubber sitting in the back of my garage.

My 2018 TRD Off Road came with the Toyota all-weather mats throughout. I replaced them with Huskys throughout. The Toyota’s were decent. Had a rubbery feel to them. Cargo liner was insufficient in my opinion. The Huskys feel more durable to me. Plus I’ve had them on a Tacoma and they last forever.

Wanted to chime in here with a comparison pic, I've had my 4R for about a month and we've had a fair amount of snow in that time, as well as trips to the muddy trails with the dog. Here's how the OEM mat has protected the floor (the mat hasn't been washed since I put it in).

As you can see, I'm a bad owner and haven't cleaned my mat, and it's filthy. But it captured almost everything I would have expected it to, with the exception of some loose debris that has rolled upward and would be easily vacuumed. The cargo mat has captured all of the dog's mud and paw prints as well. I'm happy with this over a Husky/WeatherTech, mainly because I like having the OEM branding on the mat, and after 5 years of OEM all weather mats in my prior Tacoma, I never had an issue where I thought it was worth swapping them out.

I second the OEM mats, i bought some for my wifes 4runner and we have had zero issue, they protect very well and catch everything!

I felt the same way. Having had WeatherTech ones in my old truck, I never really liked the fit and feel of them. Have been much happier with the OEM ones so far.

OEM all-weathers came with my TE. Now that we are in the last couple of weeks of winter, I've a had a decent amount of time to use them. Overall, I like them and have no reason to replace them. All the pros that people have previously mentioned I agree with. The only con that I've noticed that the area where one's heels would rest can get slick with any form of liquid (snow, rain, etc.). Every once in a while I have to catch myself from eating it because I'm using my right heel as leverage while stepping out of the vehicle. I RARELY use my OEM running boards to get in or out so that is part of the problem haha. Just something for people to be aware of.

I was between weather techs and husky and eventually decided to go with husky..they have more coverage and also cover the dead pedal, does anyone else have the husky cargo liner and have had to cut a hole where the latches are?

I had the OEM ones and was disappointed the dead pedal was not covered. I also had them in my old 4th gen and due to softer rubber, my right heel wore a hole in the mat. I now have Husky and much happier with dead pedal coverage and more depth to capture liquids.

I really like the coverage of the Husky’s in the rear. Too bad Husky doesn’t sell the rears separately. OEM in front is fine, but I can see snow dirt getting into the carpet in the rear.

Had the Weathertech's in my 2001 Tundra they curled on the sides and did not impress me. I prefer my 4runner OEM for sure.
