Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Got a bunch of diffs as parts and one of them came to me like this. The lid was sealed on but it had a small hole and filled with water.

In the bucket is a 4cly 4.10 diff with locker and a set of high steer arms. :nono:

We chipped it out then melted the ice away with a propane torch, We didnt end up using this one, It needed new bearings before, but it definitely needs a them now.

The diff work bench:

3 4cly 4.10s with lunch box lockers, 1 working, 1 with a broken center pin, 1 frozen in a bucket. 2 4cly 4.10 diffs welded, both have broken welds, 1 needs a pinion, 1 needs a ring gear. And 1 completely stock 4.10 open with a broken pinion.

Didnt really need that many, but the price was right. We replaced the center pin from broken lunch box with one from welded carrier. Now I have a working set of 4.10 diffs with lockers ready to go.

Then I pulled the leaf packs apart to set up my front leafs.

Got them in the orientation ill be running them in, but still need to cut them down. Planning on running a 7 leaf pack. 1st and 2nd are stock 88 rear leafs. 3rd and 4th will be 1st and 2nd from the 92 Downey pack. 5th is the 3rd from the 88, and 6th and 7th will be from the Downey pack. Ill get them cut and put together Monday after work.

Some mock up pics.

Actual ride height will but about 3-4 inches taller. The axle isnt in the center of the wheel.

The axle is right under the lowest point of my oil pan.. So I might try to hunt down a pickup 2wd pan.

Good to know! Iv already pulled the long leafs to get cut and replace the shortest leaf on the bottom, which is a tad bent, shooting for a 6 leaf pack.

Final leaf spring combo is

1st - 88 main leaf
2nd - 88 mil Wrap
3rd - 88 3rd
4th - 92 3rd with clamps
5th - 92 main cut to 24 with flipped around and re drilled
6th - 92 mil wrap cut to 17 flipped around and re drilled

I had a old Downey set I used a few out of. After I flexed it, I removed the 3rd or 4th out of mine it was nice since it had clamps though.

Drilled out the break holes to 1/2 " and made a 5th Stud.

Used a 1.5'' X 1/2'' grade 8 bolt.

The nut is welded to the back of the knuckle. A lock washer will help the bolt not hang down so low, but there is plenty of clearance between the nut and the ball.

Hanger and shackle tubes all welded up.

Ground down my IFS hubs to fit the 97 taco rims. If I was running a steel rim, I could probably use the stock studs, but I need to get some longer to fit the MT aluminum rims.

Stock V6 Calipers ground out a bit to fit the taco rotors, and I drilled out the bolt holes to 1/2".

And got a coat of paint on everything.

The axles isnt under it yet, the tires are just sitting there for the picture. Ill be able to get a "ride height" pick next weekend, which should be about 4" taller than that.

I thought it looked a little low. You'll still have that thing further than I will. Family and holidays takes a lot of time from working on the truck.

I know right? Worst time of the year to be building something. And I picked up a weekends gig teaching snowboarding for a little while. But hey, more money for the build.

Thanks man! I would have loved to go 6shooters, but all I had to buy for this was bolts.

Put the knuckles on and got the axles bolted to the leafs for some "ride height pics"

Measuring 25" to the bottom of frame just before skid plate. 21" to lowest point on the bud built, with a 126 wheel base. The tires and sas netted me about 6" of total lift.

Heres another installed 5th stud shot.

And got my motor mount plates and pass side frame plate cut. All were cut from the piece of metal they are lying on.

I'm thinking about doing the frame plates also what size did you use?

Those be 38x12.5s TSLs, my fenders have been cut about 2-3". Plates are all cut from 3/16th". Not sure on the shackles, I can measure, they are the ones from Skys kit.

Not a big up date, but its something. Ordered what I need to finish up the steering, hopefully thats stuff is here by the weekend.

My 21 year old stock pitman arm didnt want to come off.

Aaaand I got my hands on some of these 30 spline bad boys and a set of creeper flanges.

I hope trail gear does good things with them. I know everyone loves to hate on TG, but they have the back ground to really help Longfield grow. But I dont want this to turn into a debate.
