It's not a money issue, especially considering that he spent money on modding it (tires, rims and lift, just from the picture). It's just that he wasn't happy with it and wanted a change. I got my truck under dealer invoice. My friend works for Nissan and I got the truck for employee price. Now shut your "pie hole"

Lighten up, Francis. What's the matter, don't like my R/C toy? At least I can afford to KEEP my toy, unlike you.

Anyone that believes you traded in the Titan for the same price you paid for it is a sucker for sure. I don't care if your father owns Nissan, there's no way a dealership gave you much over trade-in value. And if they did, then they gave you a sucker deal on the new vehicle.

It comes from the factory without the handle for some reason. That is correct.

What do you guys use the handles above the door for on the drivers side? I know the handles on the A pillar is for helping people up into the front seats, but I thought the reason for the handles above the doors was to let passengers stablize themselves over a rough ride. I always figured the driver didn't need one because they were using the steering wheel and wouldn't really need one. Maybe I need one too, I just don't know it yet!

Originally, I thought it looked like something was missing without the driver side handle. I added it only for looks. After I added it, I find that it helps when entering and exiting. I hold it for stability.

No, it doesn't really matter. But when I smell BS, I like to raise the BS flag. And this is a major case of BS we have here!:)

And I never made any statements about the price of a 4Runner versus the price of a Titan. I simply said that there's no way that he bought a new Titan (at any price) and then traded it in for the same price in which he originally paid for it. Sorry, but I wasn't born yesterday.

Now where is that BS flag? Oh well, this will have to do: :flipoff:

Some might see this type of attitude no better than a troll.

You can state your point but no reason to make it blow out of proportion or instigate hostile posts.

Don't look now, but your post fits the very definition that you describe.

BTW, some might also see this type of attitude as keeping it real. Some also have a low tolerance for BS, myself included.

I know you like black but why aren't you pissed at the stealer? I would be if I signed up for one thing and they gave me something else (this applies to anything you can buy in life.) What kind of slimy service is that? Where is the original silver one? They work from a system wide inventory so they shouldn't be trying to sell you something they don't or can't have without some kind of explanation. You said they were bringing it in. Did another salesman sell it out from under your guy? Did they want to unload their current inventory instead of doing a dealer trade? What kind of stealer is this? My point being this type of last minute thing should be worth something ($$$.) I would have walked. What kind of reputation does the service department have?
Lucky for you they had black and you still got what you wanted. Glad you're happy. Now get them to at least throw in the "missing" handle and a hand full of other toys (mats, cargo liner, net, oil changes.)
Where are your pics and when are you lifting it?

ps You'll enjoy the ride, especially since you are saving money with the V6. I test drove both and for my driving style and needs I didn't take the V8.

It made sense to me. Let's put it in 4Runner terms:

Say you bought a 4R for $30K. You add $10K worth of sound and video equipment along with a bunch of other mods found on this board.

You then take this modified 4R (that cost you $30K + $10K = $40K) to the dealer and offer to sell it back. The dealer buys the 4R back from you for $30K, which is what you originally paid for the stock 4R (before the mods).

Sounds very plausible to me...

44, I can certainly respect you "keeping it real". And, I applaud you for being honest and expressing your opinions. Too, I think you will find that most/all people in this great forum have a low tolerance for BS. BUT, all I am asking it that we all need to agree to disagree. And, if you disagree, please do it with respect. I am a straight forward person as well, but I understand that there are limits to how/when I express my opinion. This gentleman simply traded his truck in on a beloved 4Runner and regardless of what they gave him on his trade in, I am thankful that we have another member to this GREAT forum. And, I am thankful that you are here as well.

That was exactly happened to me. I lost around 10K in two yrs for my mods. They are included: lift kit (procomp 6"), Fox coil over, Total Chaos A-arms, traction bars, wheels, tires, exhaust, deaver leaves, Gaylords hard bed cover, and other miscellaneous stuffs.
