I drilled through my AC condenser...

I've heard the new parts come with a can of oil, don't know about o-rings though. Do you know what size o-rings are they?

The parts I got came with o-rings.

I did my condenser, compressor, and dryer a bit ago. It is fairly straight forward, nothing too fancy to work through. You'll need to remove your bumper and grill to get space to slide the old condenser out, and more importantly the new one in without bending fins.

Once its all back together, get a shop to re-charge it.

I ordered this:

Use heat and PB blaster (Or 50/50 acetone and ATF if you're fancy) On bolts that look stuck.

Also, yes the AC refrigerant is green, there is dye, and oil in it.

Where do you slide it out from? The bottom? Looks to me like its the only way...

When I replaced my condenser I didn't have to remove the bumper. I just had to remove the grille and it slid out and in from the top.

Edit: I just checked a picture at the bottom of the first page of my build thread and I guess I also removed the horns and unbolted the hood latch.

Re-gas by yourself. It is easy. You can try youtube too. If you go to a mechanic, he will charge you a fortune.

Once all in place, use a vacuum pump and pull vacuum for about 45 minutes and then add gas while engine is running. Use new O-rings for all the joints.

You can also get the vacuum that hooks up to an air compressor if you've got one thats big enough. I've used this one a couple times without problems.

If you've got the system depressureized you might want to check your evaporator coil too. My ac would cut in and out and I cleaned my evaporator and replaced the dryer and expansion valve and it has worked perfect since. Here is a before picture:

Yes!! Good post, I totally forgot, do clean this part out, the only way to do it us with the AC system evacuated. I forgot to do mine, and I feel that it is the reason my AC doesn't blow very cold.

Btw, PB blaster is much better than WD 40. In my opinion Kroil is better than PB. Let it soak before you start. Save your self some head aches.

You have to remove the glove box to get to the evaporator. Unplug a couple things. Remove 4 screws. Disconnect the lines in the engine bay. And then pull it out. It's not too hard.
