I was looking at a Tacoma DCOR or a T4R. Wife said she always wanted a 4Runner. That was enough for me.
I got asked a funny question regarding what I drive

When I was replacing my second trusty Pathfinder, I had been looking at a Pilot. After we had test driven the 4R, the wife looked at me and said, "no Honda, THIS is the one you want".

Should have told the 24 y/o - I bought the 4Runner, because it holds 3 child car seats, in the back & the SUV also has a 5 star family rating.

Thread was a long & entertaining read, but I was only waiting for a loving family member to arrive here on Xmas eve.

I actually get the question about why a 4Runner often. Being that I'm in my early twenties and still in college when I go out with girls they are often like I haven't seen a car like this and ask why i got this over a wrangler, which I had before. I always respond that I need a car that can go anywhere in any weather and tow whatever I need, and do so safely. It's hard to argue with girls that having my old unlimited wrangler back would be fun in Miami with the top off but the car was just in no way safe. It's also a lot bigger when you fold the seats down :eyebrows:
I also got asked the other day at a gym I workout at why I need such an expensive large car in college, they saw it cause it's an open garage type place and I park upfront. I got really pissed when they asked how much my parents pay a month for my car. I ripped into the guy who asked me that and assumed my parents paid for my car by expressing how working a job for years and being top of the class has allowed me to make my own lease payments. I couldn't help but mention how the guys 2014 grand Cherokee was in no way as reliable or capable as my 4Runner. Even though I'm young to have a new 4Runner doesn't mean I don't pay for it myself and there isn't a better car out there for me that can meet my requirements.
