I guess I'll jump on the bandwagon…
[MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] and [MENTION=47340]Titanpat57[/MENTION] , grats on the SCOTUS decision yesterday!
I'll admit, a 4Runner doesn't have the sex appeal of a nicely kitted-out Jeep. But then again, driving that jeep at high speeds, in bad weather, in the cold, ect. really isn't fun.
The 5th Gen 4runner is much better looking than the last generation and it stands out somewhat in the SUV crowd.
If you find a person who instantly likes your choice to buy a 4runner, then I think you've found a good person to start a relationship with.
If your spouse/significant at the very least understands why you chose to buy a 4runner, that's great as well.
If your date/spouse/girlfriend (or boyfriend, no judgement here) finds you less attractive because you drive a 4runner instead of a luxury crossover because its "better" and "cooler" then that's probably a good indication that the relationship has reached its limits.

There is NOTHING that compares to the 5th gen 4Runner...
Ok..there's wannabes.....and couldabeens...but at the F'in end if day, pound for pound, there is nothing that will do what our trucks rwill do, straight out of the box.
For you Jeep "pile on mentality" guys....go take a 4 day trip with those Wrangler tires and solid front axle...and get back to me....H

Every time I ride in a Wrangler, I feel like I am cruising around in a drivable bobble head. They have got to be the most uncomfortable vehicle ever made.

I was looking at getting an older M3 as a daily driver beater mobile

No arguments from me on that one. I definitely think the 4runner setup (IFS, solid axle rear), the space and the interior is definitely superior to that of the Jeep, especially for everyday use (for pure rock-crawling, I concede that the Jeep has the upper leg in stock form). Plus Jeep has some of the lowest reliability ratings whereas Toyota is decently ranked.
I'm only saying that purely on appearances, I could see how some naive car-enthusiast could find the Jeep somewhat more "sexy." Throw on bigger tires, a lift, front bumper, you begin to have a Jeep that looks like it should be on an expedition in the outback.....it will ride like crap and has very little in terms of amenities, space, or comfort, but some would find it good looking.
IMO, the 4Runner's styling and looks, though perhaps more subdued than the Jeep's has a much more functional and timeless classic look...and for that and many other reasons, I like it better than the jeep.

I get compliments of "love your truck" and " nice wheels" from young hot looking 20 something ladies all the time and I'm 63. However, I do realize they are looking at the truck and not me. Also, you see more 4x4's not to mention tons of Subaru's around these parts. BMW's are pretty out of there element here.
Yeah, I don't expect to see many luxury or sport cars in parts of the country that get rough weather. They'd probably depreciate at even faster rate than they already do lol.

Used to have a Tacoma and been with my gf for a few years, at first she would tell me to get a sport car but after I was able to come take her out to movies and dinners when the winter storms hit with my truck, she told me to trade it in for a 4runner instead. Even told me to get bigger tires and lift!
we have the reverse in my office. we've got 2 FJs and maybe 3 or 4 Wranglers in our lot. most of them are pretty kitted for offroad fun. big ole AT tires, one of the jeeps has a winch and arb bumpers. i tried to get a group to go to Gorman with me and no one with those rides showed an ounce of interest.

Alright, PJs are cool in my book. Coming from special operations you probably feel this way about the rest of your branch anyways.
