I've been ready to pull the trigger twice on buying a Jeep. Both times, I didn't have the balls to say "This will replace my 1st gen" and i backed out. I can't get myself to buy one, even when i say i want one. I love the four liter, having a stock solid axle is nice, and the Wrangler is timeless, but for some reason it seems like i'd rather drive someone else's a couple times a year, than actually own one.

I think i'm too in love with my 1st gen. Even thinking about third gens, it creeps in the back of my mind that mine's better.

Watch out for the "Clean 87 runner build" this spring!
 
I just test drove two different Rubicons today. I drove the 2 door and the 4 door. I think I'll end up buying a new 2013 2 door Rubicon around march time frame next year when I get back from school. Stock front and rear lockers, D44 axles, 285hp engine and a 6 speed tranny. Still has removable doors and a soft top. Fits the bill perfect!

FWIW: I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the 4runners and I'll push my wife to get a 2nd or 3rd gen. I'll always love you guys. You have always been helpful with any issues or questions I have had about my 4runner. I have learned a LOT on this forum. I will of course keep in touch and visit even if my wife doesn't end up with a 4runner. I'll still wheel with FoG and his sweet 2nd gen and I'll do everything I can to make the next moab trip.

I'll do it if you do. Looks like we are moving back to the springs area next year. I'd sell mine and get into a new jeep. I've had a cj, yj and tj, might as well go for a jk next although I want an unlimited.
