I have taken the plunge!

Looks like I may end up parting out my 4runner within the next couple weeks. I went wheeling today and bent the front driver side lift bracket and bent the part on the frame that it bolts to. I don't care to fix it and it's pulling a bit to the left. If anyone has any interest in parts let me know. FoG has dibs on the diffs and I'm keeping the tires. Everything else is up for grabs.

I'm done putting money into this thing. I loved it for a while but it's time for it to go.

I am a little sad to see a 4runner with such good potential go buh-bye though.

Thanks, aside from the initial purchase price and maintenance I got a good chunk of money sunk into it. FWIW I pulled the Feeler THread, Wife came up to me tonight and asked if she "..let's me do an engine swap and helps w/ the expense can we keep it instead of buying a Tacoma right now?".


Man, I love her. Still would love a DC 4wd Taco though.

Sounds like you've got a keeper...the wife, that is! Better never let that one get away.
 
PM me for what you want for the top. I can't say that I can do it right now as I am still trying to pay for MOAB but let me know.

I go back and forth everyday. Yesterday I was convinced that I was gonna keep it. Later that evening, after I asked SV how much he wanted for the top, I was talking to my Dad and I guess he is getting sentimental in his old age and he informed me that he wants me to have the family Bronco. Figures I could spend the money on it instead of a 4Runner and he said he would like to see my two boys be able to enjoy working and taking trips with it.

If I do that, plan would be to pick up a 4th Gen and tow the Bronco.

I was checking out your classified ad then came across this thread.

Since you knew of the damage before you bumped your ad, it would probably save you some headaches to mention it there for those who don't read this thread.

I have been driving the 4runner all week and it drives normal. The bracket is bent but looking closely and measuring, I don't think it hurt the frame. I don't see it as anything huge and I'm really not in a hurry to sell it. If someone offers me $3500 for it I'll let it go but I don't think I'm withholding anything major here. I'll of course disclose all details about this thing, good and bad to any potential buyer.
