Yes. I have been playing around with the settings. I was testing the USB port and I plugged one in and was unaware that it had some photo files on it. I like that I can throw up something custom if I want. Here are some pictures that look more stock.

It’s the scosche dash kit. I had it painted to match by a body shop. Also had the recessed bezel section next to the face of the head unit painted flat black like the stock radio. That was worth the effort imo.

Any updated reviews on the T9 or Beat Sonic? T9 looks so great but I'm not sure if the bugs are worth the hassle

I just installed the T9 yesterday. I like it because of the huge screen. All I want is CarPlay. I don’t care for the million android apps. I just want music, maps and text read back.

How's wireless CarPlay working out? Does it skip?
And how's the audio quality? I think you're the only person I've seen with a T9 with a Limited.

i’m using the native app Tlink. so far i have not heard it skip. the audio from itunes and pandora sounds okay with my jbl setup. yes, it's a limited

I'm super close to pulling the trigger on this but I want to ask you a more direct question:
Is the sound quality for the T9 better, the same, or worse, than stock for you?
I like how the JBL15 sounds stock so I don't wanna lose any quality

The sound quality I think same or even better. Reason being, the T9 has preset settings and or you can make your own.
But to be honest with you, the t9 has some issues which I had to work with the CTH group on FB to resolve.
1. I was getting no audio. I had to go into the settings and set an option to another mode. Once I switched it, I got audio.
2. Initially my CarPlay has only 4 icons across. I had to update the Tlink app to get the 5 icons.
3. I think there’s something wrong with my canbus. So I’ll either get audio that fades down and up or sometimes no audio. I have to unplug the canbus to stop the audio fading. CTH is sending me another canbus.
4. In CarPlay mode, sometimes Siri can’t read back my messages. She can’t access the internet. I ordered an add on wireless CarPlay dongle. I’m hoping, it will fix the issue. Currently I’m using the native wireless CarPlay which comes With the t9.
So those where/are my main 4 issues . Basically I fixed 2/4 so far. But the support is really good so far. I mainly use it for FM and CarPlay. I know this thing has many other android apps which I haven’t tried yet, perhaps later.
If your a type of person who likes to tinker and debug things, the t9 is for you. But if you want an out of the box hassle free stereo, then the t9 is not for you [emoji40]

Well, what I really want is my 2018 to last until the 6th gen and even a couple years longer - wireless CarPlay would be such a big deal for me to hold me over for the next few years.
Thanks for the info. I think I'll wait to hear back from you on the two issues you're still working out. Then maybe I'll go for it. I think it looks even better than the actual 2020 interface so I'd be super happy with it if it works properly.
I wish Toyota would get it together somewhat on the electronics side. My wife drives the F-Pace, took her car in the other day, they downloaded an update, and now she has Android auto and car play and they completely updated her entire screens all with a single update.
Not sure why it's so difficult.
Don't get me wrong, I love my 4runner, just trying to understand why they don't come stock with LED highlights or have the ability to roll out updates etc.
