I've heard that!

I hang out in the 100 section. Now that we have two and we are modding both and they have different suspension systems, it's a whole lot of reading to make sure they are done correctly.
 
Out of curiosity - if the 5th gen had the same v8, would you have switched?

I'm kinda having the same thoughts. A year in and I'm just never thrilled with the power delivery as a daily driver. The power just isn't there under 3500rpms and it's not very linear in response to asking for more.

There's a nice black '09 LC200 near me with under 100k miles that I could actually trade down to and get $ back for my '15 TEP. It's tempting me every day. 15mpg is a killer, but since I went to 285s, i'm only at 17-18 now anyway.

I would say, whatever you do, don't drive one if you love the 4R. It's not the V8, but it does help. I don't even know that I can exactly point to one thing in particular. But I had to apologize to the salesman who accompanied me on the test drive for peeling out of the parking lot. It has a lot more giddy-up than even our 2002. It will make towing so nice.

I've driven a few. Have a 40, had an fzj80. Never driven a 200 though. Did test drive a GX460 and a few LC100's before I bough the 4runner. On a short test drive the 4runner is faster WOT and it feels more nimble due to the lower weight. It's kinda the long term day to day that's making me re-think it. The 1FZ makes considerably more power under 3500rpms where I tend to drive than the 1GR. It is kinda lacking in gearing, a 1FZ with a 6 speed might make a great combo. I like everything else about the 5th gen - weight, size, looks, etc. With KDSS and fox suspension it rides great too.

Gah how I wish Toyota still made these. The 200 are nice but getting overly complicated. The last two I drove at dealer lots both had their center diffs locked when I turned them on for a test drive.. has to make you wonder but also indicates the downside of having so many buttons all over the place.

Hi Kristy. Well, I cant blame you for jumping ship. I had a 2006 4R Sport and I loved the thing. Best vehicle I ever owned. I traded it in this year (i was wearing the 2006 out) and purchased a 2016 Trail. My first brand new vehicle and purchase from a dealership. It was ordered and shipped to my dealer directly from Japan just for me. And I hate it. I wish I never bought it. Got 9k miles on it and I am looking to get myself back into a 4th gen. I found one that I want and the price and mileage is good but its 3000 miles away. LOL. The search continues. 5th gens blow.

Either way, I dont blame you for jumping ship. Good luck to you with your new LC.

You all make me crazy lol. I totally agree, yet at the same time wanted a new vehicle for reliability purposes. Its weird loving something for the fact that you have to because there is no other vehicle on the new market that meets your needs.

My 1981 FJ60 my dad bought when I was 5. It's now my daily while the wifey drives the 2016 4runner. I love Land Cruisers
