anyone got close up shots? im trying to figure out how i will do one in the future. im wanting to do the flush style but the deep ones look cleaner. trying to find out if the grill can be cut so that the mesh is not bent at the sides but is close to flush. i dont like the look of the bends so thats why i like the deep style but i want to put lights behind the grill when i do this mod

I dug out my template and the mesh part of the grill I tried to salvage from my previous Runner. If you hammer out the mesh around the template, and cut your notches in the corners, it "folds" together perfectly and fits snug in the frame, so there are no bends. I took a couple pics to try to give you an idea. Keep in mind that this mesh has been installed and taken out, which is why it looks the way it does.

Thanks to Terri (Mytoy4) her write up it helped a lot! Just did this yesterday. Need to redo the plastidip around the frame, it got kinda effed up when I was fitting the mesh.

That actually looks pretty cool chrome on your 4Runner.. I was debating on doing the Satoshi Mod on my chrome one or the color matched one I bought. But I think the chrome satoshi mod looks kinda weird on Silver

WELL! I finally finished! It was pretty easy until I got to the mesh... The wood cut out to bend the mesh was an inch longer then the actual grill so I had to do some slight modification.. It has some imperfection but it still looks good!! :boink::dance:

I'm assuming the easiest thing to do is if you have an 03-05 is to swap out the head lights and the plastic molding below and buy an 06-09 grille/headlights/molding?
