ICON Alloys REBOUND Wheels - Well Suited for Off-Road

ICON Vehicle Dynamics has done it again with the launched their NEW wheel style - REBOUND - right before the 2017 SEMA Show.

ICON continues to offer 17" and 20" wheels that are a perfect complement to their ICON Vehicle Dynamics Suspension Systems.

What do you guys think about the REBOUND wheels?

Dear lord, stop it with the damn fake beadlocks. Yet another wasted Icon wheel that could have been great but ended up a tacky, ugly mess that looks like every other aftermarket trash wheel out there.

I like the clean lines and simple look. I like the 17x8.5 size and 4.5" backspace. That fits a 285/70/17 tire well. The load rating is significantly more than most wheels of similar design.
Why would anyone choose a 4.75" or 5" backspace? Wider stance?
The non-functional beadlock adds a few pounds of purely decorative weight. The link to the TALV site does not indicate the weight of the wheel. The price, at $230 each is more than the SCS Stealth 6. I believe the SCS is around $195 for the same size.
Would these look good in front of King Shocks? :lmao:

There are very few aftermarket wheels that I like the look of, but I really like the look of these. Don't have much of an opinion on the whole beadlock debate since there's all sorts of fake shit that doesn't serve an actual purpose on our vehicles. These look sweet.

Fake bead lock is gay, but the valve stem protection looks good on the Rebound. Most of their other models looks like the valve stem sticks out past the rim where it will get torn off by rocks.

OEM trail wheels have baller valve stem protection. thats probably the least of my worries when the wife takes the car to work/grocery story tho.:bathbaby:

A wheel with 4.75" or 5" backspacing will actually be tucked in more than a wheel with 4.5 or 4.3" like SCS have.

Why, why, why can't Icon make these with a 4" or 4.25" backspacing? 4.75" puts them a little close to the steering knuckle when running a 285 and wider tire.

Thanks for the info. That's heavier than some rims (SCS for example) without the beadlock.
Now reading more closely I see the 4.5" setback is for a 5 on 5.5" lug pattern, which doesn't fit the T4R Trail Edition. The 6 on 135 mm or 6 on 5.5 is the close to the T4R. 5.5" = 134.7 mm. I think the 5.5 circle is closest to the Toyota. Does anyone know if that's correct? Is 135 mm close enough? What is the stock circle?
The 5" and 4.75" backspace fit these later two wheels. The 6x5.5 is available with a 4.75" backspace.
At 4.75" backspace the center of the wheel is over the mounting surface (hub?). I'm looking at upgrading to a 285/70/17 LT Cooper or Falken. an 8.5" wheel is recommended for that size tire.

Does anyone know what the stock Trail wheels weigh? The SCS Stealth 6 wheels weigh 24#, which is really good for a 17x8.5 wheel. The Toyota TRD Wheels, at 17x7" weigh 28.4, which is kind of heavy for a wheel that's narrower than the stock Trail wheels (17x7.5). The FN Overlander 17x8.5 wheel weighs 27#. Good luck finding it on their website.

Edit: I read on an Amazon site that a typical Toyota stock 17" wheel weighs 35#.

Ordered today!

I ordered a set of 4 wheels and their Gorilla keyed lug nuts today. Richard was very helpful over the phone in placing the order and offering the Black Friday discount price.

I like these wheels a little more than the SCS Stealth 6, which are the same 8&1/2" width. The SCS are lighter by a few pounds but with a lower load rating. Most wheels have a load rating of 2100 pounds. The ICON Rebound rims are rated at 2750 pounds each.

These will go nicely with the new Icon Stage 7 tubular lift I have on order. I plan to install it all around Christmas.

Edit: Shortly after placing an order for 4 ICON alloy wheels I called back and added a 5th matching wheel. I want the same size wheel/tire whenever I change out a flat and I've got a back up rim in case one of them gets damaged.
