ICON trailing arm install???

Wow, it’s been awhile since I’ve been around and there are a lot of new faces. WELCOME!!!

I’m getting ready to install my ICON upper/lower trailing arms and track bar and have a few questions.

1) For those that have done this, is it better to support the truck by the axle or frame?
2) Should I apply anti-seize to the adjusting collar’s inner and outer threads?
3) The instructions for the upper trailing arm say to apply assembly lube to the link bushings. The instructions for the lower trailing are and track bar don’t mention this. However, since these are going to get greased, it would seem to make more sense to first pump a little grease through the fitting to flush any fillings out of the fitting and then prel-ube the bushings with grease instead of assembly lube. Is this a better idea than using assembly lube?
4) Should I use any lube/oil/grease on the ball point ends? It would seem that anything I apply would tend to hold dirt and slowly grind away at the joint.

Any tips to make the install go easier?

Hey there,

Please see my comments in bold blue text below.
Wow, it’s been awhile since I’ve been around and there are a lot of new faces. WELCOME!!!

I’m getting ready to install my ICON upper/lower trailing arms and track bar and have a few questions.

1) For those that have done this, is it better to support the truck by the axle or frame? I'm going to install my Stage 6 over the 4th. I will have the entire truck up on 4 jack stands supporting the frame.
2) Should I apply anti-seize to the adjusting collar’s inner and outer threads? Anti-seize is always a good idea on suspension components.
Using grease is all right. I will be using grease myself. I recommend a high quality grease like Super-Lube. It's the $hit.
4) Should I use any lube/oil/grease on the ball point ends? It would seem that anything I apply would tend to hold dirt and slowly grind away at the joint. If you use a dry teflon lube or a high quality grease like super-lube, it won't attract/hold dirt as much as run-of-the-mill grease options. Technically speaking, the heim joints for ICON suspension systems are designed to run dry. However, some users experience squeak (moreso when the suspension gets dirty). The best way to combat this is to use a spray lubricant (again, I recommend Super-Lube) to lube the joints only as needed (sort of like when you use WD-40 on a door hinge).

Any tips to make the install go easier? I'll letya know specifics after I install Wednesday/Thursday. If you need any specific hints, feel free to PM me for my cell/e-mail address.
