How much travel is gained by going with the extended shock and icon uca vs. non extended shock and stock uca? Which shock is comparable to the toytec boss? (Extended w/uca or non extended)

I believe it's 1-1/2", so not much, and it's mostly in the droop unless you crank the coils up even more. But if you're going for the best and most you can without ripping everything out for long travel then it's the best bet. Obviously it's better to do it right the way you want the first time, but if finances are that tight you could always get standard length coilovers, later on get UCAs and when your coilovers need rebuilding have them changed to the extended version during the rebuild/overhaul.

Exactly what I was I thinking, get them changed out when rebuilt later. I'm getting into off-roading, I don't live in Colorado and I haven't been over landing all my life so I figured go mild and see how much off roading I do but with a good set up and upgrade in the future. Thanks for the advice, I'll go stage one so I don't piss off the wife when I buy 5 wheels... and 5 duratracs...and....and...

So it looks like we have some early adopters picking these kits up in the Summer Suspension GB by Jicko. Cant wait to hear some more feedback, we know these kits work great but a review from one of you will carry much more weight.

I'm glad I caught this thread! I've pretty much decided on the icon stage 5 kit and was looking for more info on it. I will definitely give you a call once I'm ready to pull the trigger. I was looking at buying it from Poly Performance since they're located just a few miles from me but I have to pay some fairly outrageous sales tax throtugh them.

It sounds like the LC80 springs are good for the rear, I was wondering if the front coils will handle a heavy front bumper + winch though. Right now I'm looking at a Shrockworks front bumper and the rear with dual jerry cans and tire swing out. Is there an option for a heavier coil on the coilovers or is it pretty much just crank up the preload?

Nice! I went to school at Cal Poly, love the area. We can definitely save you a good amount by not charging tax, as well as providing our industry low ICON pricing.

We do have an option for a heavier coil from ICON! It runs $90 and you can either go with their 50# over stock or select a spring rate.

Side note for everyone. I am running the Tacoma version (kings) and they fit my tops perfectly. I am unsure of why they changed part numbers for Tacoma / 4runners. Why do I care. I love them.

Anyone know how the cdc system works out if it is only installed on the rear? I already have the rear remotes so that upgrade once I need a rebuild does not cost that much. Upgrading the front to remote res then upgrading to the cdc's is costly though expecially since our rigs really don't need the front remote res. I would like to take out some of the 'harshness' from my setup and I'm sure the cdc clicker system will do that.

We've done setups like that for a lot of the Tundra / F150 guys that tow with their rigs. They go with a standard coilover up front and a CDC out back so they can adjust the shock when the truck is loaded up.

In the rear, most likely 12" travel walker Evans adjustable remote resi on larger shock hoops of course witg OME 861s.
