Ideas for a shorter antenna?

just got back from autozone with that other antenna and i can say the screw that comes with the roadwerks fits nicely into the mangowalk and both fit nicely on the 4runner. Reception doesnt sound as crisp tho and that may be cause for concern....anyone recommending then that bmw antenna? and what is needed to get that bad boy attached.

um 30 secs, long enough to unpack the new screw, screw the stud into the mango antenna then screw it into the base

Could others that have ordered the 3" or 5" stubby antenna please chime in with your reports on reception please? My 5" stubby has not yet shipped and I'd like to change it to the 7" stubby if reception seems to be an issue.

Hey guys - I got my Mangowalk antenna today and installed it using the studs found in the AutoZone antenna. Super easy install, and so far so good with the reception.
 
I put a 3" on and cannot tell any difference in reception. However, I live in Denver so reception was never an issue in the 1st place. I love the looks of it. Very clean.
 
noticeable difference with the 3" its honestly pretty bad fortunately for the moment i'm either using my ipod or xm so i like having the shorter antenna at the cost of reception but would definitely like to look into better quality shorter antennas.

i was hoping no one else would be having reception problems. i ordered the 5" stubby over a 3" for the better looks (IMO). it's seeming like that decision is going to have an added bonus of potentially better reception (over the 3") from what i'm reading. i guess it's a good thing that so far only 2 or 3 have posted w/ reception issues.
 
anyone know the lengths on that bmw antenna or have any suggestions for other attennas? Let me know how that 5" works these things are cheap enough where i have no problem finding one that works well and is a lot smaller than the sequioa that came with the truck
 
In theory the adapter from AutoZone that works on the 3" Mangowalk would also work on the S2000 without modification, correct?

Is this easy for someone to steal? I'd hate to replace the antenna and then have someone spend less than 30 seconds unscrewing and walking off with it.

Lol... A car antenna is easy to steal no mater what you do unless you use loctite to keep it in place.

I will have to check my local PD to see what the crime rate is against auto antenna thefts.... lol :lol: JK
