idler arm

So I'm rebuilding my idler arm today and I damaged the grease seal with my pickle fork where the idler arm stud attaches to the steering link. Does that matter or do I have to order another part? I ripped a hole in it and the grease definitely pushed out. Could I just glue the holes? I'd prefer to have my runner working and not waiting another day or three for that part.

You should order another boot but you will probably be safe to clean the boot really good and put some rtv on the tear.

Concur. Did same on mine. There is really no pressure on that grease, and nothing touching that grease boot, silicone sealant should last along time.

O.P.,
Good job on rebuilding. You used brass bushinhs?
