I'm trying to help my father-in-law with his new-to-him '96 4Runner 3RZ-FE that is squealing on startup despite a belt change. A friend mentioned maybe it's the idler pulley, but I've heard the 2.7L 4 cyl. 3RZ-FE doesn't have an idler pulley. True?
I am 100 miles from him and don't have access to take a look at the car to confirm/deny, so if someone knows offhand, that would help me tremendously.
