Is she short? Sits with the seat at full height ? I'm not being a smart guy, in my line of work (Security) we have CCTV pretty much across all of our buildings and parking areas (Government). This occurs a lot, in empty parking lots. People run up into posts mostly and not just women drivers of course. But the commonality seems to be that the drivers are shorter, sit high in their vehicle and maybe forget just how much the A Pillar and Rear View Mirror can obscure your viewpoint, never mind if a visor is down.
We've had pedestrians escape with their lives many times because they are walking at just the right angle a vehicle is turning in their direction, and are completely obscured from the drivers viewpoint. I can see these as contributing factors here, I've watched more than a few of these occur in our lots and there is always a common denominator, driver is looking forward but not around what is in the vehicle.
Had one recently exactly like this scenario except the driver crawled over the front of an Audi A3 and tore off the whole front facia of that vehicle in this exact same manner. In a fairly empty lot otherwise ... visor down, saw the A3 at the last second and didn't see the turning radius wasn't quite right.
