I'm considering a windshield light bar

So I've been trying to come up with projects I can do when I get back to the east coast and take a couple of weeks of leave.

I've been considering a windshield light bar, but have trouble committing to drilling holes in the roof.

Anyone want to enlighten me on their experiences and pro/cons?

I don't think you need to drill holes in the roof. I'm pretty sure you can run the wires under the windshield trim. Also I would imagine that there would be a lot of light reflecting from the hood. I don't have a light bar on the roof so I can't say for sure but I'm sure someone that has done It will chime in soon enough.

Mount it on the roof rack and route wiring through the door seal. Just make sure you go with a Rigid with either a spot or hyperspot pattern. I have a Chinese 52" on my f250 and the optics are awful - the beam isn't focused enough and the glare on the windshield is awful. The rigid on my 4runner is great.

Are you talking front door seal like I was running an xm antenna wire and up he windshield seal or out the back door. I've seen it a few different ways.
