IMHO..my 1995 toyota 4runner poorly designed..

my advice is save up for a 3rd gen or 4th gen. they can be had for 5k and up for 3rds and a lot better from what i have heard. i have not driven a 2nd or 1st gen but i have driven a 3rd 4th and 5th and can say they progressively get better, minus the 5th imo.

Car companies make mistakes, just like car buyers. If you don't like it, sell it. If you want to buy another 4runner I think there are many good choices out there for you. I love my first gen, I have owned about ten cars in my life, and even though it is a slug with no cup holder, it is the best car I have owned.

Who decided where these brake lines should go? Someone thought it would be awesome to run one on the top of the frame. Make replacing them rather difficult. There's also a place where the brake line runs through a corner of the frame that holds a lot of mud and road salt. That must have caused my brake line to corrode. This space is located on the last cross section of the frame and is not too hard to spray out if you know where it is. The people who had my '95 before me clearly didn't know about it.
