Improving the JBL Sysytem in a 2015 Limited 4Runner

I have been debating between a 2015 4Runner and a 2015 Grand Cherokee. I am leaning towards the 4Runner mostly because of reliability issues with the GC. However, one killer is that it seems that most people think the higher end JBL sysyem that comes with the higher end 4runners are really underwhelming.

Whats the easiest/cheapish way to improve what comes with it? I read in one thread that someone just replaced the head unit and that was all it needed. Any suggestions very welcome. Thanks!

Take a test drive, blast the music, and see how you like it. I have no complaints about the sound quality in my 4Runner, and I had an obnoxious 12 inch sub in my previous vehicle. I don't think the JBL needs any more power, the only thing I would improve is the sound dampening in some of the plastic panels. Eventually, I'll probably add some insulation to decrease rattling.

I was under the impression that most complaints were for the non-JBL sound systems, but I'm not sure.

it's not as underwhelming as the base stereo, for sure. but, hell yes, it could use improvement...
