...and just have to ask this:

How in the name of God did all of you guys get the rear done without coil spring compressors?? The axle will only drop down so far until you get tension on hoses and lines. My dad and I tried and tried but could not get the springs back in with the spacer installed. We borrowed some spring compressors and got it done, and I'm very happy but I've just gotta know how you guys did it.

Oh, and the inner most nut/bolt at the top of each strut assembly in the front was an absolute nightmare to get off, particularly on the passenger side. A few years of rust+impossible location=lots of swearing. Other than that, the front was cake.

Oh yeah, I'll post pics when I clean her up.....and get some bigger tires :bluejump:

I have had no problems getting my rear springs out.

I find it easier to do by just pushing down one side at a time. I have even jacked up the opposite side of the axle to make it flex to one side, which seems to help. Was the sway bar disconnected?

We disconnected the bolts beneath the shocks and the driver-side panhard bar per the instructions. Didn't try jacking up just one side but it looked like lines were under tension, particularly on the drivers side while prying the axle down.

Considering everyone says the rear is easy, I'm guessing we missed something. I just don't see how the axle could be lowered any further without damaging something.

I put the same set up you did and had _ E L L trying to get the spring back in..the brake line was under extreme tension until i took the bracket off that was holding it to the frame. I did one side at a time but everything had to be disconnected on both sides to get it to drop down far enough for the spring to go back in. bymeself wasn't easy either but a small jack helped put the axle down and hold it while i put everything back in..
