Installed the factory sliding tray today

Thanks again to @Popsmith for the help.

For anyone considering doing it, ITS SIMPLE. Just make sure you get all the hardware (consists of 12 bolts (4x14mm, 6x12mm, 2x10mm), the frame, tray, storage bin, brackets for the bin, and access covers.

Everything is pretty much plug and play. And to remove the base trim, Just remove the 2 brackets that support the forward section, pull the back trim piece, and the carpet slides right out after unclipping it.

The only thing that adds any bit of a minor challenge is the bolt holes for the back two bolts for the frame (toward the bumper) All you need to do is put the frame in place, and with a drill bit smaller than the bolt, gently drill through the top layer of metal of the back two holes, this will expose the mounts. Be careful, don't drill deep. If you're a bit off then use a dremel to even it out. Vaccum the metal shards, mount, and viola you have a level rear deck.

I didn't add any pics because it really is that easy. So for those of you who want to do it, go for it.

Where did you acquire the tray?

Would love to add this to mine but so far the only way I have seen to get one is to find someone who wants to get rid of their own.

That's exactly what I did. Don't bother talking to a dealer, they won't have a clue what to do. Just go to the classified forum and put up a WTB thread.

This was going to be my question. I have heard that the parts are prohibatively expensive. I have the sliding tray and don't find it really useful other than providing a flat floor with the rear seats folded down, which comes in handy when sleeping/camping in the back of the truck. The other options don't give you a full length flat floor.

One mod I've made is to mount folding D rings in the corners of the tray so that it can be slid out with a load tied down. All of the factory tie downs are not on the tray. If you have something tied down you have to remove the straps to actually use the slide out feature. Kind of defeats the purpose.
