Installing TRD Pro bumper trim pieces on SR5

This is good thread. I'm now looking at doing the same thing with valences. I read that the front bumper has markings where to cut. Do you guys know if the rear has the same markings. Also what part number did you go with for the clips. I read 2 different #'s and just want to make sure before I order. Thanks fir help.

I will try to help you out, but I have never dipped my skid plate "I have an RCI front Skid", but don't see it being to overly difficult. I'd say since the skid plate is a high traffic area you'd want to hit with at least 8 coats, I'd tape up the lettering and try to get the lettering taped off the best you can, I have yet to get a perfect line with plastidip but have came close. I'd say get four maybe five cans of plastidip to be safe "I like to have too much of a product then too little". Once your done with your last coat, give it about 20 mins and while the dip is still tacky use a box cutter, a tooth pic or whatever to peel the tape off of the letters. Then I'd let it dry for 8-12 hours then put it back on the runner take pics and post them on here.

My bad, I was mistaken. Thanks for the advice, I actuallyl ended up trying it reversed, only dipping the letters black. We shall see..

I just ordered 14 more as well as the back bumper valance. As for the hole markers, I assume the rear is marked just like the front. Heck, it better be!!

I very much leaning towards doing these as well. I just ordered the TRD grill and I had my lower bumper done in black vinyl already but I noticed the other day it's starting to release in the corners and it's only been a few months. I'm going back to the place I had it done to see if they will redo it since it has a 3year warranty and if not I'm going to order the valances.

So to sum it up, I only need to order two pieces if I want that TRD Pro grill look. This is not including the front black valance bumper piece.

1. The TRD Pro "TOYOTA" cover itself.
2. The upper radiator grill cover.

One thing I'd do if they do re-do your wrap, I'd add some edge molding along the bottom edge of where the front valence meets where the skid plate is, this will prevent peeling in the future. That area is the most prone to peeling when having the valence wrapped.

That's not where mine started to give, mine started releasing along the sides. I figured if it was going to go then that's where it would cause of the complex radius there, plus it was done during the winter so temperature might of have something to do with it. Well we'll see what they say and are willing to do.

That's true, when they did mine they avoided the complex side corners and took it straight down and left the sides white, they had told me that like you said the complexity of those corners could be prone to peeling, so they just went straight down and left the sides exposed, I will see if I can find a picture to show you what they did.

Hmm, not sure if I'd like the way that would look. I'll give them one more try since it wasn't cheap (I paid $100) and if it doesn't work out I'll just order the valances.

So I got my clips today. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they are the white ones. Question is now the tip of the clips get pushed from the inside of the bumper then snap into the valance. If I'm wrong please let me know. Thanks again.

The valance has pegs that slide through your bumper. Once aligned, you will slide clips through the pegs on the backside of bumper, thus securing valance snugly against bumper.

I forgot, has anyone attempted the rear valence yet?

I received the rear valance yesterday and hope to tackle this weekend.

•Long box at bottom is rear valance
•Parts above long box are the rear hatch handle panel/emblem/lettering/gasket, and small box far-right is matte black emblem/lettering blackout kit
•Tube at bottom is 3M wrap for the roof rails

Needless to say I have my hands full lol

Correct. My dealer tried to order a bunch of stuff I did not need to complete the job. That started my quest of doing it myself where I could.

I Installed the front lower valance finally this weekend. Took me 1 hour 15 min to install and put everything back together. Very easy mod to do and looks great IMO. I didnt have time to start the rear valance so my goal is to get that done next weekend.

One of the pics below shows the indentations or marker locations on where you need to cut the slots.

Another shows the edge of the bumper and how it just clips/snaps into place. Very easy to remove.

3M-Wrapped Roof Rails

Finally got around to applying the 3M wrap to roof rails. Combined with the newly added TE/TRDP roof rail end caps, I am thoroughly pleased with the finished look

Rear Hatch Handle Panel + Blackout Kit

Swapped the rear hatch handle panel out for the TRD/TE panel (black), and then applied the blackout kit.
