Installing TRD Pro bumper trim pieces on SR5

Front bumper look good and seems easy to do. I'm currently waiting for mine to come in the mail. Should be here next week.

I'm curious to know how the rear valance goes. That's going to be next on my list along with the pro grill pieces. Great thread... Pics through the process if you can.

Swapped the rear hatch handle panel out for the TRD/TE panel (black), and then applied the blackout kit.

I'm confused - isn't the rear hatch panel already black on the SR5? I'm currently overseas and can't look at my truck to check, but I could've sworn my '14 SR5 rear hatch looks like the 1st photo you posted.

Also, thanks for the info and documentation in this thread. I will probably eventually do the TRDP grill mod, but think it sort of needs the front and rear valences to complete the look. It's nice to know that the bumper removal isn't too difficult and that the slots are pre-marked from the factory. When buying a Dremel, do you need any specific kind of bit? I don't own one yet, but it's a tool I've been meaning ti pick up for a long time anyway. Does it have some sort of blade attachment, or do you just grind through the plastic with a sander or metal file or something?

Ah, my SR5 is black, which explains why it already has a black panel.

I was told to use a bit that has a twist in it for plastics, and the Dremel I bought came with a starter pack or whatever with a ton of bits, and the needed bit was included.

Well, I now have a spare classic silver handle panel with emblem and letters dipped black.

Let me know if you're serious, I'm sure we could figure something out.
I'm accumulating a lot of parts in the garage, guess I'll have to jump into one of the 'For Sale' threads soon.

TRDP Rear Bumper Cover

Start by removing the screws in each wheel well and pop the clips out.
Make your way along the bottom of the bumper, removing all screws.
Remove screws on the top side of bumper (tailgate area).
To remove bumper, start in the wheel wells.
Pull the bumper (snaps) downward on each side.
Separate the tailgate area.
Remove bumper.
Wipe down/clean the inside of bumper, revealing the hole cut markers.
Put the Dremel to the cut markers.
There are 15 holes/cuts, but only 14 of them need a fastener (the one in the middle near the hitch area doesn't need one)
Slide bumper cover over the bumper and apply 14 clips where the cover's arms stick through.
Put bumper back on truck and apply screws/clips.

I'll get better pics once the sun comes back around.

Thanks for being such a thorough documentarian! I'm probably going to do the TRD Pro plate and grill mod on my SR5 eventually, and might as well do the bumper trim pieces to complete the look. Posts like yours with pics and part numbers are always super helpful. :thumb:

Agreed! I'm going to tackle this at the same time I get my rigid fog lights in. Might as well, I have to remove the bumper anyways.

Honestly, removing either bumper is easy, and the rear one is super easy. I noticed the area where the rear bumper meets the side panel wasn't aligned yesterday morning, so I took it off to fix it and it literally took me about 7 mins to remove. What I found was one of the tabs that snaps into place was folded down, so I used a rubber driver to hold the tab in place and guided it into the groove it snaps into...FIXED! Put the bumper bk on in same amount of time..job done.

Finally got around to applying the 3M wrap to roof rails. Combined with the newly added TE/TRDP roof rail end caps, I am thoroughly pleased with the finished look
