Instrument cluster

Has anyone tried to install the multi-gauge instrument cluster, or inclinometer in a 4Runner? If so - how'd you do it!?!? I'd like to try getting it onto my 5th Gen, but (obviously) there's no wiring harness to plug it into.

I wonder why Toyota never offered something like this in the 4Runner? Or did they??

Can't guarantee it, but I'd assume the wiring would be pretty simple, power, ground and 2 temp sensors for inside and outside.

Well, I was able to get a diagram from a friend who works at Toyota, so I know what wires go to what pins on the female plug in the unit. I initially thought to just go with power & ground as you said. Since the 4R has a clock & temp gauge, I wouldn't be missing anything else. I'll have to do some more digging to find a feed for inside & outside temps.

Fingers crossed and extinguisher at the ready. LoL. It'll be a bit before I can get to this install though. I hope no one's waiting on the results!

I didn't know you could get one on the first gens. Those were so damn cool with the removable hard top.
