I installed my Scion HU in my 4Runner this weekend. I think I may have shorted something but I am not sure.
The instrument panel goes dark when I turn on my headlights. Everything else lights up fine (center console, HVAC, etc.) and dims up and down fine. I am planning on running through some fuses and relays, but I can't even think what the problem would be. If it was the back-lighting to the instrument panel, then it wouldn't be working at all, but it works fine with the headlights off. If it were the dimmer, then why does everything else work?
Anyone have any ideas?
FYI... I disconnected the new HU and put my old one back in just to check. The problem still exists. Also, I have the JBL system in case that matters.
