Did the spark plugs and spark plug wires yesterday. The spark plugs did look different than the ones that were already in there. THe ones that were in the Runner before had the dual spark rods where as the ones I got (NGK's I think, at least that's what the local auto parts store said was used) had only a single spark rod.The old spark plugs were definitely worn as the rods appeared to be white in color, and eaten away a little (I'm assuming just from the sparks over time)
Cleaned the throttle body with a shop rag fairly well, completed the deckplate mod kinda(don't have the deckplate yet, but I dont think I will need it as I do not go into any water at all), and finally got the PVC end caps into the intake hose.
All this in 3 hours of work...Not too bad!
Seems to be running a lot better. Haven't noticed any lagging in the lower to mid rpm's as I saw before and it definitely has a little extra kick. Could be from the new spark plugs, wires, and deckplate mod.
I'll give her a few more days to see what kinda mood she will be in and decide if she wants to give me any more hell....
Does the Runner only have one PCV valve? That hose in the picture I posted goes to the drivers side of the engine, but I did not see a PVC valve like the passenger side.
