interior LED install issue on map light

So i was installing my interior LED lights this last weekend and i have a small issue. On the map lights, i installed both LEDs and one side works and the other does not. yes, i already tried rotating 180 degrees and tried a different LED bulb as well. I am guessing that it might be a fuse? Can anybody help with the fusebox location and fuse for the map lights? any other suggestions?
BTW, these are the Putco LEDs from Xenon Depot.

I would call and exchange it. I called mines back and was sent one in the mail the next day. Try swapping another good working LED to see if it is just the bulb. Anyways, how did you get your halogen bulbs out. I had a hard time and just gave up. All my interior lights have been switched except the map lights lol.

Did you try using scotch tape to remove the bulbs? It took a couple tries for me but eventually was able to get both of them out and LED's installed.

thanks for the reply.
I don't think it is a bad LED, i tried 2 different ones, but ran out of time due to superbowl.
I will investigate further and try a known working bulb.
I got the OEM bulb out using tape. Get a strong tape like box tape and wrap around bulb then pull out.

Hi jmf_tracy,

Have you tried swapping the bulb that works with the one that does not. The fuse that you ask about feeds both the L & R maplights so we know that's fine. Try swapping the bulbs and report back, Rgds!

Hi Jmf_tracey

I had the same issue with my 2012 sr5.
By any chance did you disconnect your battery when doing this change? Take out your LEDs and replace your OEM bulbs in. If both your OEM bulbs work you have the same problem mine gave me.

not yet, might try that tonight. It is a PITA to get these in and out so i was not really looking forward to trying that. i did try 2 different new LEDs though. i doubt that i would have received 2 defective LEDs.

did not disconnect the battery, did not think that would be necessary.

will do.

Let me know what happens.

I accidentally shorted the fuse when I did mine. It is in engine bay and marked if you look under fuse box cover. The thing is...all of your interior lights would have gone out. Check that you didn't bugger up the connection. I used tape and a needle nose to get those bulbs out. They truly sucked.

Thanks guys, I used an old duck tape and use my leathermans to pull the bulb right out. It only took a min or two.

It looks like you've either lost your 12v feed or the ground; which the light switch provides. There are a couple of tests that'll determine which one is missing. Using a multi-meter or a 12v test light, connect your RED test device lead (or test light probe) to a known 12v power source e.g., cigarette lighter, dome light bulb contact...etc. Now connect the black test lead to the ground terminal at the map light socket; we don't know which terminal is which but that doesn't matter at this point, we just want to establish that there IS a ground available from the switch.

If your meter (or test light) indicates that you have 12v then we know that the switch and ground are good but tells us that the power supply has dropped out. If there is NO indication that you have a ground up there, then you'll need to investigate it further! We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. In either event, prepare to remove that shiny silver upper console reflector for further exploration. You will also need to remove the HOT AT ALL TIMES courtesy light fuse located in the driver-side fusebox labeled DVL-2 25A.

NOTE: Please use caution when working in the upper console junction area as there are other fuses associated with this circuit! Cheers!

Thanks for the advice here. I will try this out this weekend and see if i can locate the problem.
