Interior noise in new 4Runner?

I purchased a new 2013 4Runner with 9k miles; it was driven by the dealership manager before being sold.

The heater fan seems to be a bit louder then I would expect from a new car, especially at low speeds. Does anyone have this experience, is this normal or are 4Runner fans very quiet?

Additionally, the break-peddle makes a squishing type sound whenever I press it, not something normal...sounds like squeezing a bag of water or sponge. Any insight on this?

That's a lot of new threads form ya in a few minute period.

Brakes are normal. I would suggest you search "Brakes 5th gen sounds" or something similar. At least 2,290 results will come up as this has been covered many many many times.

Was your fan on high or low? Your definition of loud might be a bit different than others, so it's subjective. Without a sound clip it's hard to tell if it is normal or not.

Fan is on low.

The noise is coming from the peddle, not the pads or other components on the wheels. Its an interior noise.

Again, the sound you are hearing from your brakes is normal.

As far as the heater fan is concerned, pull the cabin air filter to make sure is clean and there isn't a leaf or debris caught in it. Some of the annoying little issues like the brake squish that the 10-13 had, were addressed with the 14.
