Interior Rear Hatch release Button

did mine the other day so here is where and what i used

used a metal recessed push button from parts express

So i just tries this mod and now my door will not open at all

I check all fuses all are good
I put wires back to stock and still nothing

Turn the truck on, roll the window all the way down and all the way back up with the switch on the dash. It should go back to working fine. It needs a reset after the battery has been disconnected.

weird. Unplug the ecu in the back door, then reconnect it. Just to be sure all the connections are all good.

Try a full reset again. Unplug the battery for a min, then do the reset on the door. You might also try using the key in the lock to roll down/unlock the door and roll up/lock it.

If I remember correctly, I had the same problem.

Try unlocking the doors.

Seriously, somehow my hatch locked itself as I was wiring this up, and I went through all the same steps. Locking and unlocking the whole truck did the trick!

something so easy...
story of my life.....
going to leave the battery disconnected for 15 mins and see if anything
i started off by getting a momentary spst switch from radio shack
and i tried using the taps first "even tho i hate them"
did that pluged it back in and closed hatch and nothing.....
now i cant even open the hatch to try and work on things and put my panel back on fml.....
then i opened window :thank god that still works"
and removed the taps. and then cut and spliced the wires and notta....
tried the car running and up and down with the window....nothing

Looks like you got the door open again. If not you can reach in and there is a little lever/rod thing you can grab and it will release the door latch. Its way down in there, behind the plastic but at least you can get it open.


Mine did this once. I thought the ECU was dead. Same situation it just stopped working one day. I had it apart, taken the switch out, put it back in, check everything and then I think it was wehn i out the access panel back on it started again. check your ground, that may be part of it.


But with the window working i want to say its just a reset type of thing.

Is the hood up?

then i tried hooking up the switch and clicked her and she worked
now rear window does not go up or down with key or remote
but works from switch inside of truck:noidea:

Hold the switch on the dash all the way down then all the way up and it should work like normal again.

thank all of you guyz for helping me out i really appreciate it....
you would think i have never done wiring before....
i am going to solder in the switch and put panel back on then see what happens

so i got the switch mounted in the panel.....
got the door working.....
put it back together and door wont work...so i took the switch wires off and put it back to stock and she works.....
i am giving up as of now its cold im pissed and its getting dark....
i tested the switch before i installed it for continuity all checked out
its a no momentary switch so idk wtf is going on....
tomm i will solder legs to the factory harness with quick disconnects and give it one more try.......

now im scarred to try n program my new keys and fob.....

i think so
but now that im looking at op's his purple wire looks really blue.....
errrr

this is mine

and continued due to pic limit

now take a couple of 4" pieces of wire and crip the other half of the connectors to them. and then strip the other end for soldering. solder them onto the purple/white and light green/red wires.
like so. i prefer to just strip off a bit of the insulation rather than cut the stock harness.



and now you should have this.


now wrap some tape on the solder joints. and well put the cover back on. the three tabs at the glass hold it really nice so that we can make our connection.

No your on the right wires. Its purple with silver bands and tracer.
