What a sweet build thread and badass build man! So glad I stumbled upon this. I sure hope you decide to keep the 4Runner and do those mods you listed, I can't imagine how capable it would be then. That one-of-a-kind Tundra sure puts a smile on my face too. Hope the Celica build is going well!

Been noticing the single cab short bed trucks around town. One parked in my culdesac.

On the way to the gym I usually notice 1 or 2 parked next to eachother next to the gas station car wash. I think a group of guys that work there drive them. Yesterday 3 of them were parked next to eachother. On the way home I had to stop and take a picture. 2 of them were still there. I totally got busted. Two guys were walking back to one of the trucks as I was driving off.

Ah yes the Mamalonas. I didn't think they were that popular of a thing outside of the southwest and California. Some of them are pretty cool, some of these kids actually dump some money into engine mods and those little things fly with a cammed LS in it lol.

Tackled some things on my easy list:

Replaced 3 cracked taillights, 2 on the 4Runner 1 on the Tundra.
CB spring is weak allowing antenna to whip rear spoiler at 80mph. Removed CB antenna
Rear driver side roof is leaking water, check roof rack delete plates. Checked and tightened
Fix F/R diff locker function, resolve solenoid oil leak issue. Blew air through the oil-clogged rear diff air line to clean it out. Checked the diff breather vent function.
Buffed headlights on 4Runner and Tundra
Oil change on 4Runner and Tundra

AC controls

Hello, I saw a thread post where you mentioned you can switch out the AC controls for the FJ ac controls, have you figured out how to do this? Could you give me some advice on it? I have a V8 2006.

I never tried it nor have I seen someone try it. I was just commenting how much nicer they are.

Look for pics on ebay. The 4Runner control panel uses a single connector, the FJ has 3 connectors on the back, I doubt its easy.

Thinking about buying a cnc plasma table and selling aluminum fender liners and aluminum cargo drawers.

Make enough to pay off the table then use it to make Celica parts.

Still looking into plasma tables. I made quite a long list of things I could build for all my vehicles, and all of it except top full-width bumper plates fit into a 3'x4' table size. Could have the long parts made at a fab shop, or index cut it on the small table using a longer sheet and 2 cuts.

I might have a buyer lined up for my Dana 60. Wondering if its worth the money to get ECGS to build me a Tundra 10.5" axle. I lose 3/8" ground clearance at the center section but gain driveshaft clearance. The gears are stronger than the D60 but since it still uses the same axle shafts it's not really any stronger overall. Ruff Stuff makes a full fabricated housing for the 10.5"... Probably not worth it.

The dana 60 from the 4runner? Are you tearing it down/parting out the goodies? I know there was some talk of selling it to fund the other projects

And the tundra was becoming either a street truck or SAS something or orther?

There was some talk of us parting ways but I don't think my journey with the funrunner is over quite yet. Just looking to see if I need to upgrade before I chop up some of the axle brackets and add rear coilovers.

As for the Tundra I had about $1500 of exhaust parts in various internet carts ready to buy but I just couldn't pull the trigger. It might stay like it is for a while.

How do you plan to do the COs? In the fender well like the smoothies on your brothers FJ? I guess you have the clearance w the D60 or a 10.5"?

I'm still thinking 14" coilovers on the backside of the axle leaning back towards the rear bumper. Will require cutting up into the body and welding and sealing the body back around the shock towers. My axle is wide enough there's plenty of room between the tires and frame.

And forward mounted shocks start to run into the rear seat. The only thing tricky about mounting them to the rear is the fuel tank filler lines on the driver's side and the frame-side panhard mount sticks out a little on the passenger side. I'll need to remount the panhard and shorten it a couple inches.

On the ECGS axles the axle-side suspension brackets are way beefier than stock. On my 3-link I think I can pretty easily get away with using the existing link mounts, just delete the driver's side upper link and reposition the frame side mount for the passenger upper link. Then without the link above the fuel tank, I can raise up the tank too.

I don't know if coilovers will really give much of a benefit over the standard setup, I just think it's different and will be able to change ride height easier. You can tune coils a little easier too.

Built and installed a catalytic converter guard onto my buddy's Tundra. Used 3/16" 6061 aluminum.

Looks good and I'm sure you would find some buyers, especially if you made a 5th gen set.

Don't forget to allow enough room for body flex. Fit on those look pretty tight.

They don't bolt to the frame at all, so flex shouldn't be a problem. Besides, they've survived being dragged through the Rubicon and blasting down Blanca Peak without an issue.

That's a recommendation and a half. Blanca Peak is on my bucket list, I just don't have a rig or compatriots capable of doing it xD

The other thing you might consider is something like a trail kitchen that fits under the fold up shelf in the 4th gen. The trail kitchens are awesome, but something more shaped to fit in that space would be cool.
