Is the oil dipstick on the 2007 v8 sealed or am I just blind?

I can’t find it at all. I see something that looks like where it should be but it’s iust sealed.

No the oil should have a dipstick, it's on the passenger's side of the engine, should have a yellow T shapded handle on it.

Not sure what you're seeing unless the handle has broken off and appears to be a plug.

The transmission is sealed and doesn't have a dipstick.

I have a 2005 v8 and the oil dipstick is on the passenger side by the firewall. Its yellow.

I keep hearing that the transmission is sealed. When I look at it, it has a flexible vent tube that clips to the side of the engine just below the cylinder head. The vent tube attaches to the transmission where the dip stick tube used to be.

Now what I am thinking is there still a place in the casting for the transmission that would allow for a dipstick and tube to be placed, kind of a retro fitting if I must suggest?

Full disclosure I also have no dipstick on 2005 V6, but it's cold here and I have it parked for the winter so there's little chance I will know before spring unless someone else enlightens me.

Dealer service tech was trying to tell me the same thing, but no Toyota didn't change to a sealed transmission right away on the V8 w 5 speed.

Wasn't sure on the 8s. My 04 had a stick, 08 doesn't. Both 6s.

Think it was in 05 or 06 when they converted.

There still having problems on some parts of this form, notice pictures.

I read the same thing about the 04' being the last year before they changed to sealed.
Yea I saw that you had to open a new account to correspond with the Mods. I definitely changed a few pass words recently and started backing up a few pics off here that I had deleted in the past few years. Maybe we should start a go fund me drive for the admin and the mods. I'm sure this situation has killed some holiday time for them.

Yep, I have an '03 V8 with 5 speed and it has a transmission dipstick for sure.

Unless the trans is acting funny you should be ok for a few more miles, but yes, do it soon. Get any gift cards for Christmas? Start budgeting now. That lifetime fluid crap is for Soccer Moms and Dads who trade up in 6 to 10 years. It's a shame really because there is a ton of 4th gens out there with 150k to 200k on the fluid.

2003, the V6 had a 4 speed trans, it had a dipstick, the V8 had the 5 speed trans, it had a didpstick and still uses the same transmission fluid that the 4 speed uses.

2004, the V6 still has the 4 speed and dipstick, the V8 still has the 5 speed but it was the first to have the sealed transmission and no dip stick and the fluid changed to the WS fluid.

2005 and onward both the V6 and the V8 came with the sealed 5 speed transmission and no dipstick.
