Is there a need for cup holders on the 96-98?

so the outer shape doesnt change, If I click the option for the leather boot it GIVES OPTIONS FOR 2WD manual or 4wd manual. Just the leather cover having 2 openings for the shifter and t-case shifter is the difference
Just a note, the autos have another piece for the shifter that has the P-R-N-D-2-1 that comes out of that thinner slot. Its raised and has an arc shape, higher in the center of the arc. I mention this since I can see you cup holder partially covers opening.
I don't have measurements on me right now, but it does protrude up higher than the console. You can't see it too well on this picture, but it is raised.

After a google search I noticed that same piece as well. I already modified the cup holder to account for that raised part that has the "P-R-N-D-2-1". I have the latest version on a printer right now. I also made about a 1/2 dozen fitment changes as well. This one should be a really snug fit with no gaps. Once I have perfected fitment and all clearance issues resolved, I will then switch all 10 of my machines into making a batch of these. Since each print is 27 hours a piece, I can average about 7-8 per day. If the demand is there, then I will grab a few more machines to dedicate to these full time.
Yes. I thought a little old school tribute would be a nice touch.

Perfect. So all I need is the bezel from either a 2WD or 4WD manual tranny. First to ship me one gets a cup holder for free. I will need about a week to perfect the print and will then ship back the bezel as soon as I'm done pulling measurements and test fitting.

In the event you need the actual piece (the raised shifter selector part with D R 1 2...ect, I recently pulled one out of a 2000 runner to use for my center console swap. I could loan it to you as long as you send it back when you are done.
Just let me know.
I'm not sure I need one or not. there is a local guys I sorta know that has a 99 auto 4WD. I should be able to test fit on his 4Runner but I have not been able to get ahold of him. If I am not able to get ahold of him in the next couple days then I will contact you.
So the 2WD cup holder just come off one of my machines. I made a pile of fitment changes on it. I test fit it and it fits perfect. I just painted it to match the factory gray and will get some pics up tonight once the paint is dry. I now have the 4WD cup holder going with a pile of changes on it. Hopefully it will fit perfect as well. I will paint it the tan color to match the tan console I have. I will have pics of that up tomorrow night.
The Nalgene bottle is about as big as you can go. The OD of a Nalgene bottle is 3.65" and the hole is 3.75". Anything bigger than 3.75" will not fit but that's a pretty big diameter. I would say 99% of all drink containers out there are within 3.75" diameter.

So here is the next version of the 2WD option. there were a few areas that had fitment issues with the previous prototype that are gone now. It is quite snug all across the side of the center console. I got about 1/2 of the mass over the console and about 1/2 hanging off the side. It definitely wont be an issue for the passenger's legs but I'm still not sure how the seat movement will be affected. I got ahold of the local guy with a gen 3 and I'm meeting him tomorrow for test fitting. I will also get pics of the 4WD up tomorrow evening. In regards to attachment, I will be doing the same thing as the 80 series cup holders. There will be two countersunk holes built in for the folks that want to screw it onto the console. There will also be 3 long strips of 3M automotive adhesive for the folks that don't want to make holes in their console. There will also be the option to use both in case you are preparing for a zombie apocalypse.

So last night I took the latest prototype down to a local with a gen3. I was quite surprised on how well the 4WD one fit. I grabbed the largest fast food cup I could find to show you worse case scenario. It clears the dash and shifter with room to spare. The one issue I did run into was movement of the seat. The overall movement of the seat is almost 11" and the front 4.5" was blocked. You can still move the seat pretty far foward. I even moved the seat all the way until it came in contact with the cup holder then transferred my largest Britax car seat behind the passenger seat facing backwards. The car seat fit fine with zero fitment issues. I am 6' 2" and sat behindf the passenger very comfortably with the cup holder installed. I will release a single cup holder with pen and cell phone slot for the folks who are adamant on having full movement of the seat. there were a few minor changes that needed to be made so I have already made them and have the newest version printing now. It started last night. I should have that one painted and installed and still get some pics up of it by this evening. Here's was the cup holder looks like on the 4WD.

I will be leaving for vacation on Monday for 10 days. Will be touring the western US in the 100 series.(Grand Canyon, Rockies, Utah, and back down the California cost). will be camping all along the way. Not sure how this will go with a 1,3, and 5 year old. It will either be fun or insane. I will make as many cup holders as I can before I leave and will have a new employee cranking them out the entire time I'm gone. I hope to have a batch of 20-30 ready to go when I return. My goal was to get these completely wrapped up in regards to design before I left which I'm pretty sure I have done that. I'm not sure how quickly they will sell. I had a really hard time keeping the 80 series in stock for the first 6 months they were on my site. It may be the same situation with the 4Runner ones. I will do my best to make as many as I can as fast as I can. I update my website every 2-3 days with a new batch of all of my stuff. If you don't see them in stock then give it 2-3 days and check again. I will release these on my site when I return. They will be up on the evening of Wednesday June 30th. I will have some in 2WD and 4WD and in the tan and the gray colors.
